That's because the promotion is from Maybank and is applicable only to Maybank co-brand AMEX and AMEX. And Hong Leong Bank AMEX is in neither categories.American Express® Cards, Membership Rewards™

David 83,
Someone said you have to swipe your AMEX at the Petronas station counter so your card will be approved. The Petronas petrol kiosk doesn't accept AMEX, it has to be done inside. |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Apr 24 2009, 10:40 PM) @MilesAndMore, LOL ! But i guess the AMEX 2x TP/MR is worth it. AhH.. well I certainly didn't know that but what's the point of using CC if U haf to walk and make payment at the counter ! QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Apr 24 2009, 10:41 PM) QUOTE(David83 @ Apr 24 2009, 10:40 PM) @David83,Just tell the counter people U want full-tank. They will open the pump for U and when you're done, go back into the counter and make your payment. PS: Don't ask me what happens if U drove away without paying |

QUOTE(bingozero @ Apr 25 2009, 01:25 AM) No you can't. QUOTE(Dozz @ Apr 25 2009, 12:05 PM) anyone paying insurance (general or motor) with AMEX card? just want to find out which insurance company accept amex as payment method. Nope. My motor insurance is with AIG and they don't accept AMEX and neither does Great Eastern Life which i hold a life insurance policy with.QUOTE(David83 @ Apr 25 2009, 02:21 PM) Eh ? I didn't know Great Eastern provide direct debit for CC too. Last time my mom used the direct debit service from her Public Bank savings account but freaking Public Bank charged her RM10 for each transaction and so she canceled as soon as she found out. We all now pay for a full whole year policy at one go to make sure we won't miss a payment.QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Apr 25 2009, 02:26 PM) @David83, And now i'm praying MAS will soon follow suit.Ah well. Let's just wait n hope it'll b enabled soon. Afterall AirAsia's oredi accepting Amex This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Apr 25 2009, 03:49 PM |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Apr 25 2009, 05:40 PM) @MilesAndMore, If i'm not mistaken, PB online has Great Eastern as one of its payees too. But we prefer to settle it in credit card, so we can get the points I'm not sure about direct debit for insurances but I'm quite sure GEL allows online payment through several channels. For one, M2U - I believe there were 3 options; don't remember them now and left the slip in the office |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Apr 26 2009, 10:49 AM) @MilesAndMore, According to PBB, they will charge you RM10 as service fee to transfer fund to another bank's account. And in this case i can only assume that Great Eastern main bank is with other bank, not PBB. That's why they need to charge me RM10/transaction.Now that's weird. I have Standing Instructions with Citibank for Prudential and there's no additional surcharges by the bank. |

QUOTE(Dozz @ Apr 29 2009, 07:01 PM) Yes, will call MAS later to ask see they can do book now and pay later at MAS counter or not. Thx for the idea! You can always reserve a seat by calling MAS call centre (i wouldn't do this though) and pay later at their office. And yes, MAS do accept AMEX as a mode of payment at their ticket office. But since most of their cheap Economy Class air fares can only be found online, i wouldn't want to buy the ticket from their ticket office just so i can charge the ticket to my AMEX. Not worth it at all. Unless i'm flying Golden Club or First then that would be a whole different story.QUOTE(princess_autumn87 @ Apr 29 2009, 07:08 PM) The turbo program will give you 1 extra point on top of the 2xMR points will be credited to your account for every Ringgit charged to your account. |

QUOTE(Dozz @ Apr 30 2009, 11:41 AM) Don't hold your breath. There has been many complaints in "the other site" about this.QUOTE(my44 @ Apr 30 2009, 02:35 PM) But here in Terengganu, I know of one Shell station that "intentionally" disable AMEX facility and kept giving odd excuses as to why I can't use my AMEX there. Maybe I'll report this station to AMEX people. You have to file a complain to SHELL HQ, not AMEX so SHELL can investigate it.This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Apr 30 2009, 02:40 PM |
