Technicality for technicality sake is argubly an art of it's own, especially if you're from the technical field, like 4D says, there's magic in the numbers biggrin.gif and i'm inclined to agree.

If you wanna jump into things, jump in a with a complete set in my view, it's easier to work that way, and realize what you need and what you don't need by pointing out the limitations in your pics. In short, get most of what you have to get and then move on as needed.

To each his own. Some loves to deal with gears, tweak here and there all the time. But for me it would be a waste. Better to go out more first. My biggest problem is the lack of outings!

But then again, if someone suddenly sponsor me, for sure I'll go get gear, then go for shoot hahaha

two things...some people have an obsession to keep lenses and gadgets... i have a friend...he can spend a 7k L lens on a 300d...he looks up at lenses reviews and stuff...willing to pay for all those expensive gadgets but then leave it there after having enough experiment with it...

For me... I think the white balance is a bit yellow already.
Focus not sharp on the subject
I think because of the lens, the bokeh not there. So, your flower did not stand out.

My 2 rupiah comment.
I am not a photographer anyway. doh.gif doh.gif

bro...
try taking flowers of diff color...
red also pose a problem...try purple or light blue...
then ur pics will be much nicer...
i myself am having problems sometimes to get a good shot of red flower...
this has to do with the sensor...i read it somewhere...

one thing my sifus told me...try to avoid shooting red color as cam sensors are least sensitive towards red..i shot one bunga raya striking red...when it came out the petals didnt have much details and just looked like a red patch... smile.gif hope that helps...
