QUOTE(haya @ Jul 29 2024, 04:18 PM) What does this have to do with inheritance tax? japan has approximately 8m abandoned home all around the country.Places like Singapore have one of the highest rates of home ownership Japan despite their inheritance tax also very high rates of home ownership I don't think inheritance taxes in Japan (and other countries with inheritance taxes) are the reason why people are not having kids malaysia only has 24k abandoned unit altogether. QUOTE Why are there so many cheap, empty houses in Japan? Many of theses houses have been left for different reasons, though the catalyst is often the death of the original owner. Sometimes an heir refuses to accept the home that their families left behind |

This is happening everywhere even in msia where all roads lead to either kl, pineng or jb.
The reality is that people go to where the jobs are, and the good jobs are in the big cities cities. If area got good jobs that can support families (Big mining, DCs, manufacturing) then people will move there. |

I don't understand the population decline issue in general. Why is population decline something many countries are worried about? Compared to 50 years ago population is a damn lot higher. So whats the fuss? Many things were better 50 years ago.

Like a scene from ATRI where some parts of Japan sunk into the ocean with minimal casualties.

When every one around you is same age as you and young people are a rarity. Imagine everywhere you go everyone talks to you like BidenThis post has been edited by diffyhelman2: Jul 29 2024, 05:46 PM |

QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Jul 29 2024, 05:47 PM) But Japan also got alot software/programming/IT related job where you don't need to go to office to do work. For example all the gaming company in Japan, how many people are employed in those company? But I bet zero of them are doing WFH because Japanese very old fashion. |
