Maybe for sharing and learning here.

My mistake was not learning to save up earlier in my career. back then was a jolly CC user , have expensive hobbies and always travel for fun to and from (i'm guessing u call YOLO these days). Dunno all my money went even though worked a long time.

I wish I realized and be more financially aware sooner than later.

Second mistake is buying a car and house that is not affordable .

I wish back then I used a cheaper car, as depreciation kills the value and fast forward 10 years all sort of problems came out .

Although the house I bought is in a decent location, I felt that it was overpriced. Back then it was all the rage for "Property investment". If I had the chance, I would undo this mistake by not buying a house at all, and instead just park the savings in gold and use it to buy house for own self stay .

What did you do that you regretted? Past cannot change anymore, perhaps we could state this as a reminder for ourselves.

I bought a 10 years old used car as my first car for RM12,000, which later balooning to RM24,000 due to Aeoncredit loan.

I can afford to purchase cash then, but the seller 'advice' me to use Aeoncredit because 'i can use my saving money to do other things'. He might want commision. So naive of me. haha.

Need to fork out thousands to repair here and there. And car not reliable, cannot do GRAB due to old age, no sparepart around, and cannot really generate money for me. I end up using motocysle for most of time.

Dont buy second hand car unless you really know how to pomen things

1. I didn't learn investment and bitcoin
2. I didn't do savings
3. When I started working gomen job, I made personal loans thinking that my wife would get good job with her degree and master cert. she didn't get the job she wanted and overqualified for jobs around where we live

I lend RM100k to a really close buddy like 10+ years ago. Really close buddy, even more close than my real brother. After lending him he says will pay me back by installment every month.

Sometime skip 2-3 months no pay etc. In the end now i see him he see me like strangers. Really dont lend any money to family and friends, you can "give" it to them but dont ever lend.

Invested in SGX a dozen years ago without any market knowledge, just pure speculation. Lost about 50% till date.

Life would be much better if I took that money and invested in S&P 500.
