i mean not local breed (pah lia dog).. u do some reading lah.. mostly ask u not to feed them wif human food de especially meat wif bones bcz it will hurt their stomach.. might cause internal injury n gone juz like tat w/o any symtom.. so it's dangerous

When the retriever is about 2 months old, they likes to bite? Will they very aggressive and tend to bite your hand and leg 1? They will bite everything they like, is it?

Any comment? Please share. Thanks. biggrin.gif

normal la,lovely gal.didn't i mention in the other thread ah?they start teething ma.so get rubber toy like rubber bone or rubber duck for choi choi to chew on to curb her biting habits.if she bites ur hand, say firmly NO and beat gently on the side of her mouth.

just becareful of what she puts in her mouth.retreivers love putting things in their mouth.got some cases, goldens and labs ate shoe lace and terrible part is,when they wanna poo,the shoe lace got stuck in the butt.so u have to take it out lor.yea, shoe lace cannot digest so it'l come out anyways.so be careful lor.

Retrievers are not called retrievers for no reason, they love to retrieve and put things inside their mouth laugh.gif

Its perfectly normal for retrievers to put things in their mouth, they are extremely curious too wink.gif

You need a fair amount of patience to train them wat is acceptable and whats not, also train them bite inhibition as soon as possible

oh i see.no problem.it's very normal for retrievers to react this way.actually all breeds including mixed breed dogs would also look aggresive in biting etc....they r js play bite but don't make it a habit for them to bite u.

He did that out of playfullness and mebbe excitement
My retriever got a slap and a stern NO whenever i hear that sound being made no matter if its play or not

After 3 times, he stoped doing it wink.gif

oh is it?if she keep doing that, try to distract her to something else like play with her with ball and train her sit, down etc.
that way, will help to distract her from looking at ur legs as a toy for biting.but it's really normal for pups to be like that coz they're like kids.wanna play...

Not really that type of hard slap until she is afraid or cry
Just a gentle slap on the butt or face area, used it oni if she goes overboard laa

Usually with retrievers a stern NO is quite sufficient, about biting
If she bites you, give out a high pitch OUCH, if she lets go praise her like crazy or give her a reward

Soon she'll bite less and less and then forgot about biting already wink.gif

Mine still bites every now and then, but the frequency is getting less and he bites less harder than before

But during that training period, he punched a hole in my levis jeans, armani tees and etc shakehead.gif
