Does anyone knows where to get a GR from Penang?

hi there.not sure i posted before or not.i'm a owner of a male golden retriever which i bought it from home breeder in pg last month.isn't he a cutie.

thanks..yea,too early to be trained for a gr rite? moon, ru from puppy.com? rooney looks familiar.
i will train him when i'm back in pg.now not in pg.

hi..r u referring to my ben or BigBen's dog ah?so confused.too many Ben's around here.i bought him in my hometown.he looks small in the picture but very big size.coz follow dad's size.big bone.nw no more pups.

hi BigBen,thanks for the compliment.well,yes he's also named Benny,but he doesn't like the name Benny when we called him.So,we chose to call him Ben instead.He didn't respond to Benny but responded happily with Ben.Does it sound odd?they choose the name,not us?your Ben is really handsome.nice structure and nice fur.

guys,may i know what are you feeding your GRs?Like dry food and canned food?Currently feeding Bil-Jac Puppy food for Ben and ANF for Roxy as she has skin problem recommended by the vet.

hi there...the difference btw goldens and labs are, goldens have long fur which maintenance is higher than a lab which requires low maintenance coz they have short fur.both are intelligent,loves water and loves retrieving coz they are retrievers.but,they are not guard dogs.they r very friendly to everyone they see even strangers.you can try to read on from this website...

oh i c..ANF downgraded ah?i know last time their ingredient got include ethyoquin which is bad for dogs.toxic i should say.but now,i see got none of it in the packing.what did you feed your ben when he's a puppy?my ben is with my breeder now as my house currently doing last final stages of renovation. hmm...i wanted to get canidae als or proformance for them.is it good? proformance sold for 23kg for RM 150+ in Ipoh.As I'm from Pg,i may go there to buy lor.but checked their ingredient online got corn gluten meal etc. any advise on what to get. i now not in penang.im outstation,will be back ard end of the month.

oic.hmmm...still unsure what to get for ben n roxy.if wanna get canidae,i need to drive all the way to pg island ler.summo not cheap.but proformance sold 23kg with rm 150 which is cheaper than canidae.have u heard of it before?

Added on May 5, 2008, 6:58 pmi've just seen AleuNe's golden puppies.they are beautiful.r u from penang?there are breeders in pg as well.isn't it too far to take the pup all the way from jb?i'm also from pg and i got my boy from pg as well.but,now no more puppies.but i do know that in ipoh,there's labrador puppies.my friend's breeder has 6 puppies.if you're interested.however,i'm not sure whether the pups still available.what i do know is,if you're from pg,why not get the pup from pg or ipoh?jb too far.scared the pup will be tensed all the way back to pg.i'm not trying to discourage you but these are some points that you should take before getting the pup.
i think you can refer to the links i've provided earlier bout GR. what do you mean by you leave them alone?do you mean you're going to work and leaving him/her at home all alone? as for problems?i'm not sure coz i'm also a first owner of a gr.you should ask the other sifus here...

hi there, sure there are breeders in penang.you just need to spend time researching.if pg don't have,then find in ipoh where there are labrador breeders and golden retriever breeders there.the price wouldn't be expensive though.they are big dogs and some are show quality dogs.maybe.may i know how much is your budget? you can surf the previous pages here for more info. if i'm not mistaken,BigBen bought his pup from Clangan.com.my which is in KL.His dog is beautiful. earlier,the puppies i mentioned are labrador puppies.it's in ipoh.if you want,u can hv a look for yourself.my advice is, don't rush in buying the puppy.it's not like shopping for groceries,you know.i prefer you survey your options,have a look on the parents of the puppy,ask more information from the breeder bout whether any sicknesses,HD, anything you can possibly need to know before getting a GR.I'm sure he'll gladly answer to you like mine did.

hi there,pls do your research b4 you get a golden or lab.as i know of,ipoh got lot of breeders.pls do not buy from petshop.i would advise you to see the puppy's parents first.and you can enquire the breeder anything bout their history etc. pls review my other threads as well.i have given some links as well.

if Ben loves RC,then i have no objections but for me,i want a dry food that doesn't contain corn,gluten etc.thus,having holistic food is a good choice.
Proformance recently upgraded their products. check out their ingredients for holistic one.no corn no by products or gluten. www.proformancepet.com
now i'm tied up btw canidae,innova or proformance.but i bet proformance new food hasnt arrived our shores yet.so what should i do?

hi..still,i prefer getting from the breeder. coz you CAN SEE THE PUPPIES PARENTS,YOU GET TO ASK THE OWNER IF THE PARENTS HAS ANY HEALTH PROBLEMS,ENQUIRE BT THE BREED ETC. IN PETSTORE,YOU CAN'T EVEN HAVE A LOOK ON THEIR PARENTS,THEIR HISTORY ETC AND WHAT THE PETSHOP CAN SAY IS,YAYA,NO PROBLEM NO PROBLEM.how can you trust them like that?I've experienced with my rottweiler-doberman mix puppy.she has health problems and we couldn't even see the parents or the owner of the dogs.the petshop claims roxy is a purebred rottweiler.at first,she really looks like a rottweiler.as she grows,she ain't look like one.she has long thin body,long legs,long ears just like a doberman.even the vet said she's probably not a purebred rottweiler.she may have been cross breed with doberman.besides,she has skin problems after we brought her home for few weeks.luckily we brought to the vet and got her medications.
although pet store look "LEGAL",some do have good reputation.pls do thorough research first before you get.i hope i make myself clear here.

hi there..you bought your pup from pet shop?why didn't get from breeder lei?if its a reputable pet shop,its alright.
just a gentle reminder.gr is a large dog.how old is your pup?got pictures?perhaps you can soak the kibbles in warm water then mix it with rice.wat kibbles did you bought for your pup?

i see.if she's active,it's a good thing. try to do wat i suggested.some dogs may don't like the smell or taste of the kibbles.like my rottweiler doberman girl,she doesn't like ANF.when she's having skin problems,she ate it but now she doesn't like it.so i need to change her food after her 7kg finish lor. got pictures ah?wanna see her....u can add some meat into her food as well.but never buy supermarket pet food or canned food.get good ones like addiction etc.
my ben is on proformance now.i would be getting him canidae soon...hopefully he loves it.

oh i see...is it you buy from trendy pet or fairyland petshop?i saw online they have golden lab puppies....

hi there..both are big dogs lar...no such thing as who's bigger.decision is up to you.cant decide who's more handsome.it's ur own preference.possible,pls get pup from home breeder,not pet shop unless it's a reputable one.both retrievers are big eaters.they tend to get fat if fed too much...depends on ur interest.lab have lower maintenance coz short fur but goldens have long fur and needs brushing and maintenance is higher.before you rush into getting a lab or a golden,do your research first.see which one suits you.think also bout your capability on taking care of them,their medications if they're sick etc.
