also:
http://www.hostelworld.com/

as for food, everyone has their own testebuds, so its up to expense management here

Japan is memang an expensive place to go, but it's well worth it smile.gif

Apple holiday seems to be pretty aggressive with their Japan packages. check it out

I don't think they care about which bank the credit card is coming from.
If it is VISA or MasterCard, any shop will accept it.
(I do not own American Express so I do not know about it)

I've been to Japan several times.
So far I've been using my Maybank and HSBC VISA and MasterCard with no problem all the time.

no offend, but the package that apple holiday offers is certainly higher than other company's package. No doubt that they really put a lot of effort in advertising their Japan tours.

Found other company offering lower price during MATTA fair

maybe fancy chopsticks, fans or even simple yukata so you can wear at bon odori

I'm also wondering, if they have any restrictions saying that 2 person can't stay in 1 small room for single person?

hi guys, i need some input regarding choosing the best combination of JR passes...

here's my itinerary:

day 1-9 kyoto-kobe-nara-osaka-himeji-miyajima islands(for the torii gates) (day trips from kyoto)
day 10 train to hiroshima
day 12 flight from hiroshima to new chitose airport and then 2 nights in sapporo
day 15 train to hakodate for 2 nights
day 17 train to tokyo for 10 nights.

my question is :
1)for the kansai area, what combination of JR pass should i get to suit my travel needs kyoto(and surrounding area)+travel to hiroshima?
im a little confused when i see that JR-west dont include travel from kyoto to hiroshima... how should i go about it? can i pay an extension fare or something?

2) is it a good idea to travel from tokyo to kyoto for the jidai matsuri on the 22th oct?(day trip)
