roppongi and tokyo tower close with each other. go tokyo tower sometime dawn (very nice scenery, if no typhoon laa). then after that can hit roppongi, party laa, drinking laa. hehe...

i hope you get better weather this coming week.  i just got back on friday and it was rainy 2 of the 4 days i was there.

we borrowed one umbrella from the hotel to use last tuesday.  stepped out of the hotel and walking to the subway and in 2 minutes, the wind blew and it broke. 

any of you tried the homestay thing instead of hotel?

heard from a friend its fun and cheap! cost like 3k a week if i'm not mistaken, they'll bring you around like tour guides, cook for you, downside is you can't ahem back at their house..

3k is really cheap compared to if you're on your own i think

dang it, my mom got in for 3500 yen in 2007. still haven't been to disneyland yet, pergi pintu depan je. no cute girl wanna go with me T_T

Hi to all the people who have experienced traveling to Japan, I want to ask a few questions...:

1. For a first timer going to Japan, is it advisable to go by myself as in not part of a tour? I'd love to have freedom in visiting places but are there places where you can only visit when you're a part of the tour? Since I can probably only afford one trip to Japan in my life I want to make the most of it, I want to see everything that makes Japan well... Japan : sakura flowers, ryokans and onsen, temples, Mt. Fuji, Akiba, Harajuku and especially the Ghibli Museum. Plan to visit next year during spring.

2. Is it not advisable to travel to a few areas? Because I want to visit Tokyo and Kyoto or Osaka and I heard it's very costly.

3. How early should I start booking tickets? Should I book accomodation rooms before leaving Msia or can I do it on the spot in Japan (I'm aware sakura viewing season is peak season)?

4. How much money minimum should I have in order to travel to Japan (everything from flight expenses to accomodation and food)? I'm trying to set a target to reach.

Yeah, certain areas got lots of closed shop due to this holiday (supposed to be till next Tuesday).
Just go to the popular tourist landmarks, there for sure open

Asakusa is a good place to go for this holiday
