QUOTE(seriosekitt3h @ May 1 2024, 02:42 PM) as if Singapore does not have any, Any country that has institutionalized racism will automatically be more racist than countries that don'tlook at the big churches and how they impacted the current policies in SG. And they are the most racist people in SE Asia, or if corrected, they are more classism than racism, but still looks down on people with darker skins than them. |

QUOTE(seriosekitt3h @ May 1 2024, 03:05 PM) People dont go there for RM3.5, look at Brunei, Of course it's about money. People who always cry about capitalism and complain about communist are so hypocritical when ada wang takda prinsip!!how many people from Miri or Limbang commute there to work? I used to worked for 2 years, 5km from Brunei's border. The main reason why people go to Singapore is to work in their own culture bubble they are comfortable with. rtk74 and seriosekitt3h liked this post

Working in Malaysia is better for work - life balance compared to Singapore. By the time you get old and with money, you will regret the time not spending with your family. You will not see how your children grow, they will abandon you once they get married and have kids you will regret not spending enough time with your parents or siblings before they die, you will regret not making enough friends when you retires, being sad and lonely at home you will get so used to work, that you decided to work some more after retirement due to boredom. No amount of money can replace the above |

QUOTE Netizens were quick to criticise those out to incite hatred or xenophobia online after Sundayβs riot in Little India, as many urged for calm and some tried to take their efforts offline by mobilising friends to hand out flowers in the hopes of making peace and reconciliation. Some netizens had speculated that the riot was sparked by Bangladeshi workers, while others had sought to make fun of the issue by making racial slurs about those involved. Sundayβs riot was sparked after Indian national Sakthivel Kumaravelu was hit by a private bus at the junction of Race Course Road and Hampshire Road. |

No, right?anything from a simple road accidents to land trespassing will incite a racial altercations. Remember the incident with Hindu temple and the bomba guy? But in malaysia we are hearing strong echos everyday coming out from politicians, without repercussions. So, do they do it in singapore? Hence, the tie, certainly does not do justice to how Singapore as a country in term of that. |

Malaysia tension already at breaking point liao. So scary and dangerous I feel.
Some area in Selangor if I enter I will being few people together and make sure to plan early my escape route. Some area we bring some sort of umbrella or walking stick in case shit happens. Some area we don't even dare to step foot in, sometimes have to take longer distance just to avoid pass through. |

I was really hoping to see the racial tension in singapore comparing it to malaysia. Read again my comment belowQUOTE(seriosekitt3h @ May 1 2024, 03:09 PM) Singapore have more racial and religious riots than Malaysia or Malaya. Singapore was a British settlement the same as Malaya, Against Muslim, Indians, Catholics and other minority Chinese groups. The most recent ones is on 2013 which injures 60 people. The deadliest one was 480 killed with Catholic Chinese. hence that is why I make the comparison. You can see the same racial incidents with Chinese and other local ethnics in major settlements in SE Asia. It is all caused by the wealth disparity between them, while being affected by "divide and conquer" tactics from the colonizer. In Batavia or Jakarta, Indonesia, up to 10,000 Chinese descent was killed by the Dutch, then more after the war and it spilled again right back on 1998 race riots. QUOTE(seriosekitt3h @ May 1 2024, 03:19 PM) Working in Malaysia is better for work - life balance Work-life balance really depends on your job and how you manage your time, not just where you live. Some folks might find it chiller in Malaysia, others might vibe better with Singapore's pace. The rest is all about making time for family, friends, and fun no matter where you are. compared to Singapore. No amount of money can replace the above In short, working & living in SG, doesn't mean you'll be deprive of any of these. Similarly, working in MY, doesn't mean you'll enjoy any of these. |

All I agree except for low taxes. Singapore has lower income tax compared to Malaysia. I know because I'm in that situation now...
