Not really. People misused this term

It means that customers dictates what they want, and it's up to you to listen to the demand. For example, if you are a transport company, and you don't have any plans to make travel to location B for instance, but there are demands by customers to location B, then the customer is right, you should add B as a travel option for your customers.

It's not a catch all terms so that the customer can make stupid unlogical demands towards your company
