Clay boobs dont feel right when squeezed. They dont bounce either. Cannot lah.

I saw Where The Wild Things Are a few days ago. I liked it, but it's probably too sombre for most kids. The creatures were fantastic.

I got two film-noirs lined up next! The Coens' The Man Who Wasn't There and Welles' Touch of Evil. Which reminds me, I still haven't got around to watching Citizen Kane.

Spoken like someone WITH experience with Clay Boobs!! tongue.gif

Am looking forward to Where The Wild Things (getting it Next week)

Haven't watched The Man Who Wasn't There and Touch of Evil.

But have seen Citizen Kane (Rosebud). I think you'll enjoy Citizen Kane.

Swordfish (2001)

Just finished watching this on BD.

I remember watching this in the Cinema when it came out, and remember liking it. Had recently purchased the BD and only had the chance to watch it today.

There were rumbling about this movie, going thru some form of "renaissance" (bare in mind that this movie is almost 10 years old) where purchase and rental went thru the roof become of the story of the movie.

Having slowly and steadily losing my mental faculty, I couldn't quite put my finger on the reason for the said renaissance until I had watched the movie today. And can only add, only in America.

Here are a few reasons to watch Swordfish

1) The beginning scene.

2) Halle Berry in her birthday suit

3) John Travolta as an S.O.B

4) A younger Hugh Jackman

5) Things go boom

Do I recommend this movie to people. Yes, for it's entertainment value BUT I do not agree with the outcome of the movie

My Best Friend's Girl.

I don't know what is it about Dane Cook but his style of comedy is so offensive and repulsive that it is hard to watch any of his films with a straight face. I have never seen a romantic comedy that has pissed me off even after the lead gets the girl. This is the one of those rarities. Good Luck Chuck is another.

I did like the Hairstylist segment though!! biggrin.gif

This Is It (2009)

I have had this for quite some time and had held off from watching it because I didn't want to watch it because of Michael's sudden passing. I wanted to watch this as what it is. I have to say right off, it is NOT possible, because the "movie" itself is a haphazardly edited together from the "best" material that is available to the director, BECAUSE Michael Jackson dead before the actual project This Is It, took off.

I love "making of". After watching a movie, watching a good "making of" can add to the experience.

Granted, this making of didn't have any MAIN movie, and it consist mainly of deleted scenes!!

There are so many hints of what he tried to achieve in this movie for the concert and possible new MTV of his hits but alas, they were not meant to be.

It is very obvious to me (hind sight 2020?) that it would be a long shot for him to have completely done all 50 concerts. I don't think physically and in spirit, he was up to it. Maybe one concert done VIRTUAL to 50 other places might have been possible, but when he SHONE, he was dazzling!

If u take it for what it is, it is a great movie. If you want everything great about Michael Jackson to pop in this movie, you'll been disappointed.

I hope u find now what u cannot find in life Michael. R.I.P.

Hot Fuzz

Watched this some time back, and just rewatched it again on HD. This is an unexpected gem
(when u watched it for the first time). The story starts expectedly and then the ending hits u
(and what a fun ending it is). Let me put it this way, American action movies are unabashedly
satirized. Simon Pegg plays such a funny character by playing it VERY straight!! Brilliant!!

Added on March 10, 2010, 2:02 pmSpiderman 1 (2002)

Wow, hard to imagine 8 years has gone back since the first Spiderman movie. Watched it again last Sunday on HD. I still have to say that Sam Raimi had the script perfect for the first movie. It was true to the comic book, sincere and done with so much care.

Toby did a great job being Peter Parker/Spiderman. I have to say, the whole cast did a great job!

The effect maybe a little "jaded" now, but when you first watched it, it was spectacular.

What I wished they did was that they should have put in the scenes they took out with the twin towers behind in the special feature (including the original Spiderman trailer, where he trap thieves from escaping but catching them in a sider wed spun between the world trade center). Sony was so concern about being sensitive to the family of the victims of 9/11, they put the movie back into post production to remove or redo all scenes with the World Trade Center in the back ground. I am kinda sorry that Sam doesn't get to do the movie for the fourth time....

Spiderman 2.1 (2004)

I thought the story remain almost the same as the first movie, but Doc Octopus was fantastic! The main difference between the 2.1 and 2 (as far as I can see) is the elevator scene with Spiderman meets the Hal Sparks character. In Spiderman 2, they conversation was VERY short, in 2.1 it went on and on... Hal Spark would have made a great Spiderman, but I think he is a tad old for the reboot.

Alice In Wonderland 3D (2010)

Gosh, what a ride. But the question is, to where?

I've never considered Tim Burton as a man director, more of the boy in us all director, his latest out Alice In Wonderland, is it a boys pic...

I've NEVER been a fan of the Alice story, NOT the Disney animation (which puts me to sleep), not the countless special TV series (one with John Stamos as the Mad Hatter!?!) etc, how does Tim Burton's version fare?

It is NOT an adaptation of the original book per se (although, admittedly I've never read). It is an extension of the work.

Visually stunning, Johnny Depp is a good hatter and Danny Elfman is MOST un Danny Elfman in this movie (his music is not instantly recognizable as a Danny Elfman work).

If your enjoy Tim Burton's work, or is a little girl in your heart, u'll love this movie.

P.S. Love this movie version of Twiddle Dum and Twiddle Dee (played by the second half of Little Britain)

I consciously do that. I want people who read my reviews to make their minds up for themselves. But if a movie is TERRIBLE, I straight out say, the movie is TERRIBLE.

As for whether or not I like Alice, I like Tim Burton's "for the little boy in all of us" movies. Alice is more like "for the little girl in little girls movie".

For the RECORD, I am NOT a little girl!! laugh.gif

Aiyo, sometimes people want to know what you feel. Gives us some closure... you're not Joel or Ethan Coen! biggrin.gif

Btw, cant decide between watching Green Zone, Invictus, and Edge of Darkness. Which should I watch? I'm leaning on Green Zone at the moment, but it came out of no where... I didn't even know Greengrass had a new movie coming out until a week or two ago.

Since u are obviously a Bourne fan, I say go with your instinct. I've seen the trailer, it looks good.

I actually didn't want to go to watch Alice in Wonderland, but Pavillion was showing From Paris With Love so late 9pm and am a little under the weather so ended up watch Alice...

Enjoy Green Zone. Let me know what u think.

Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow

Talk about your Saturday Matinee Movie. Am now watching it again on HD. Visually stunning. This movie pave the way to the likes of Sin City, 300, Watchmen, Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings Trilogy and even his King Kong and is more world of the World then Steven Spielberg's War Of the World [set design and machines of destruction wise). What I mean by this is that it is the first fully blue/green screen film (eg actor act to nothing [not even the background])

Breathtaking Audio.

The storyline is straight out of a comic book, and has a strong first and second act. Tightening up the 3rd Act would have made this a FANTASTIC movie.

Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow are the leads and did a good job.

Do, I like this movie? Despite of some flaws in the storyline, and for the record and to be clear to Quickfire, YES, I LUV this movie!! laugh.gif

Yeah I think I'll watch Green Zone. Ebert gave it four stars. I may not agree with him all the time, but I can enjoy a good action thriller. I just hope it doesn't lay on the politics too thick.

Just finished watching The Princess and the Frog. Pretty good, but nothing particularly memorable. As light entertainment for the family, it works. The animation itself is underwhelming at times, after you've seen the rich drawings of classic Disney like Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Aladdin.

Anyway, it adds to a string of fine animated films from 2009:

Fantastic Mr. Fox
Up
Ponyo
Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
Coraline
Mary and Max
The Princess and the Frog

OK, maybe none of these is ass good as Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, or Spirited Away, but surely they to add up to the best year for animation ever?
*
Again, give us your feedback after you had watched Green Zone

As for other forumers commenting about your "meh", truthfully, have you watch Men Who Stare At Goats, once to many a time!!? tongue.gif

Agree with you about The Princess and the Frog, and I thought is was a very good attempt at hand drawn animation again. The last featured film hand drawn animation they did was Home On The Range (2004) and that was just FRIGHTFUL!!!!!!! *shivers*

As for your list

Fantastic Mr. Fox (will watch this weekend)
Up (I thought this was UP there with Toy Story, Beauty and The Beast and Incredible tongue.gif)
Ponyo (Not Watched)
Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs (Love the humor, especially when he is "stating" what exactly he is doing)
Coraline (Not Watched)
Mary and Max (Huh? What's this??? Not Watched)
The Princess and the Frog (Entertaining)

Justice League Crisis on Two Earths (2010)

I have to leave it to DC and Marvel, having most of their "hot" properties tied up by some major studio, waiting to be filmed, they are still able to produce animated version of the same characters and what a boon (to viewers) that has been.

I'm not sure if there are many comic reader on this forum, even if there is, not sure if any of u had read/know about/remember a gem called Crisis on Infinite Earth (George Perez artist, breathtaking... his art not not him!!)

Coming back to this direct to Video/DVD/Bluray movie, it is VERY well done.

From the first frame to the last, everything was well thought out.

Lex Luthor and "Jester" (huh?) broke into a high security vault to steal the Quantum Trigger and succeeds, and they were hunted down, and only Lex managed to get away with his life intact!!?! He opens up a trans-dimensional doorway, appeared in what looks like Metropolis, and surrendered himself to the nearest police station (what the...??)

Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman visits him in the station, and the story begins!!

This movie reminds me a lot of the old Superfriends cartoon but not as cartoony. U have to watch it to understand what I mean.

If you like DC stuff you'll LOVE Justice League Crisis on Two Earths.

P.S. A main character from Watchmen is in this!!!!!!!???????

I actually had high hope for this animation. After Marvel's Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2, but alas, this was a disappointment....

Story is not captivating and a animation is a little sub par

I watched this before I watched Justice League Crisis on Two Earths (2010) and I have to say the later is far superior then this.

I'm sorry to hear that. I believe that a couple of years back, there were reports of a Pokemon episode cause alot of japanese children to throw up.

Maybe the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball to "technocolor" for her to process at this point in time...

Yes, I've watched Superman/Batman: Public Enemy. It is good but Crisis on Two Earth is better.

Additional, the comic version of Superman/Batman: Public Enemy is also better then the movie version.

Green Zone was pretty good, especially the first third of the movie, but it's political message is obvious to everyone, yet the film makes it out to be some kind of revelation. It's quite suspenseful throughout. Nothing that touches The Bourne Ultimatum though.
