I have preliminarily lodged a report against Maxis with MCMC as well for their further action and to investigate Maxis for unfair customer practices.
Yesterday, Maxis said they will call but thus far, nothing. I can only urge others in a similar position to lodge a report against Maxis with MCMC. ----------------------------- Hi there, Today I enquired about switching from Maxis Postpaid 98 + Maxis Share 48 plan to 2 x Hotlink Postpaid 40 plans. The Maxis postpaid plan is free from any contract. However, I was told that this was not possible. Rather, I have to switch from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink prepaid, wait for one month, and then switch to Hotlink Postpaid. This is an unfair practice and Maxis is unnecessarily making things difficult for their customers to freely switch plans. The report number is xxxxxxxxx. Kindly ensure that Maxis allows the switch directly from Maxis Postpaid 98 to Hotlink Postpaid 40. In the event Maxis doesn't cooperate, MCMC should take appropriate action against Maxis for unfair customer practices. |

QUOTE(contestchris @ Jan 14 2024, 03:13 AM) Hi all, thanks bro, followed your steps and i managed to switch directly to hotlink 60. will downgrade one month later to hotlink45Just wondering if this can be done easily, and if so, how? Can be done online, Maxis CS (123), or walk into store? Currently have a Maxis Postpaid 98 with Share 48. When making the switch, both will be switched together? Appreciate those with recent experience to share. Thanks! ----------------- Today (15 Jan 2024) I have successfully switched from Maxis Postpaid 98 + Maxis Share Postpaid 48 to 2 x Hotlink Postpaid plans. Here is a detailed step-by-step how you can do so: 1) Ensure that you are free from contract and the most recent bill is fully paid off. 2) Call Maxis at 123 (between 10am and 10pm ONLY) and tell them you want to switch from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Postpaid. 3) The CS agent will tell you this is not possible. They will give you two options - either switch to Hotlink Prepaid for 1 month, or port out to another network and then port in to Hotlink Postpaid. 4) Let the CS agent know that you would like to speak to the "Retention Team", as you are aware that Maxis Postpaid can be directly switched to Hotlink Postpaid. 4a) [Optional] If the CS agent is being funny, threaten gently to report to MCMC. 5) When speaking to the "Retention Team" agent, they will repeat that Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Postpaid is not possible. 6) Repeat Step 4 that you are aware that Maxis Postpaid can be directly switched to Hotlink Postpaid 6a) [Optional] If the "Retention Team" agent is being funny, threaten gently to report to MCMC. 7) By this point, they will relent and tell you that they can only switch to Hotlink Postpaid 60 (without contract). You need to wait 1 month to downgrade to Hotlink Postpaid 40. 7a) [Optional - Untested] They might be able to go directly to Hotlink Postpaid 40 if you press / threaten further, but I chose to just accept the Hotlink Postpaid 60 first and then make a downgrade in a month's time. 8) Choose to agree. The change will be made within minutes. They will advise to restart your phone. 9) Enjoy your cheaper Maxis Postpaid plan! |

QUOTE(rtk74 @ Apr 2 2024, 10:21 PM) Did not even mention about mcmc haha. I just tell the retention team I am aware can change directly from maxis postpaid to hotline postpaid, then he proceed to advice I need to be on hotlink60 for 1 month first before can downgrade. |

Didn't know such thread lol. Just did it last week. Wa exploring doing on the site. Given a merry go round.
Proceed to request for them to call me. Received call. Given a merry go round with 3 persons. But the last person offered me a maxis plan, which i accepted. Higher than my intended hotlink plan but more data which i might not need but well its still a saving as compared to the plan i had. This post has been edited by cempedaklife: Apr 3 2024, 08:53 PM |

After switching to Hotlink Postpaid, is the bill generated based on each person's name and mobile number?

QUOTE(jutamind @ Apr 3 2024, 10:20 PM) After switching to Hotlink Postpaid, is the bill generated based on each person's name and mobile number? Still under my name. It comes in the same bill. Two separate numbers. Very much the same as the Maxis bill with Postpaid 98 + Share 48, just that now, there is no principal / supplementary lines. I can view the full bill and payment from logging in to Hotlink app with either phone numbers. This post has been edited by contestchris: Apr 3 2024, 10:50 PM |

You need MCMC for Maxis cases. They make it hell when I tried to port out, such as ignoring the SMS confirmation and even quoting some existing charges when they were fully settled.
Fuck this telco. |

Thanks for clarifications. Is there a way to split to 2 different bills with different names?
The reason I'm asking is for income tax purpose as we can claim cost for mobile data plan separately if bill is under different name QUOTE(contestchris @ Apr 3 2024, 10:49 PM) |

QUOTE(jutamind @ Apr 4 2024, 08:16 PM) Thanks for clarifications. Is there a way to split to 2 different bills with different names? Just make sure to have each number under individual name. Can go to Maxis centre to change ownership. Then each individual will get his/her own bill. The reason I'm asking is for income tax purpose as we can claim cost for mobile data plan separately if bill is under different name This post has been edited by YoungMan: Apr 4 2024, 09:46 PM |

Actually Hotlink is a subsidiary of Maxis? The line from Hotlink is actually Maxis line?
Got speed difference between Maxis and Hotlink? Is it the same stability or speed being offered equally? |
