If I have Maxis postpaid with no other commitments, can I switch directly to Hotlink postpaid without having to wait ?

My contract finished recently. Called them to convert my postpaid to prepaid from Postpaid 98 to Hotlink 60....Instead the gave me a RM20 discount for 24 months with no lockin period...which I accepted..
