Correct. Last time the value for ANY phone (even if broken or cracked), they give a RM600 trade-in discount for you. You just need the IMEI code if I am not mistaken. Later the 3rd party will contact you to ask to meet up to inspect the phone. Even if you then say you don't want to continue the trade-in, the trade-in discount is already in effect.

Or if you do meet with them and then the value they gave is unacceptable to you, you can also choose not to proceed.

I remembered someone mentioned they entered their old useless Redmi phone also can get the RM600 trade-in discount.

Well for this year, will have to see if the process is still the same or whether the value is still RM600.

This trade in any shop also can go, or need to go their authorize dealer only?

They will pay you again for whatever they value your gadget is worth.

So basically you enjoy RM600 trade-in discount upfront + whatever trade-in value they give you.

Samsung gives the trade-in discount, where as the trade-in value is given by another company, CompAsia. They have an app on Play Store, see the link provided by the forummer above my post. It will give you a rough estimate value of your phone.

CompAsia business is selling 2nd phones (all brands).
Quite legit, I bought a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy A52s from them before. Also I did traded in a Samsung Galaxy S21 to them before. Maybe you can sell a bit more on Carousell or LYN but I lazy to go through all the hassle of meeting people here and there.
