Just get a china rugged phone. Ulefone, doogee, block view, whatever.

They are proper waterproof, big screen, big battery and tough as hell. The older models are cheap as heck anyway.

My bike is now developing a weird high speed wobble issue.
Never happen before this even with pannier and topbox.

Now it wobbles above 160 with pannier and above 180 with no pannier and no topbox.
Trying to pinpoint the issue.

Changed the rear tyre bearings since there's some slight grinding when I feel it by hand. Still wobble.

Changed front tyre bearings and seal since it's been 50k km. Still wobble

New bearings is a bit dry. Added more lithium grease to it.

Still wobble.

Checked and cleaned the fork seals. Still wobble.

Next gonna change the steering cone / head bearings. Some slight grinding.
If that doesn't work then will change the front tyre.
Rear tyre is still new.

Maybe check the rear/front wheels if they are balanced? probably need to re-true or add weight

yeah that was the first thing i did.
still wobbled.

even changed the rear tyre to my old tyre, rebalanced since that was the last thing i did before noticing it wobbles.
still wobble.

haha.
i'm guessing it's the steering head bearing or the front tyre.
and since the bearing is much cheaper than the tyre that will be next to renew.

Likely the tyre if it's half done.

yeah probably its the tyre.
i notice the wobbling is more pronounced when front tyre has lower pressure.
if i pump it to 36-38 psi the wobbling is reduced compared to lower pressure like 33psi.

but lifting the front wheel and twisting the handlebars i feel there a slight grinding at the center position.
suggesting the steering head bearing is shot anyways

Headbearing issues will usually be felt as a change in turn in effort, either too fast, or binding...or uneven effort in different steering angles. Wobble issues usually are due to the tyre, suspension, alignment or a weight distribution problem.

I used to have Ottocast C5SE 5" on my old D400 V1 , my current D400 UG using Reako 6". Its cheaper and lacks a few things like GPS, lower quality camera. but works perfectly fine as a dashcam/navigation.

Ottocast less lagging issue , I used it for almost a year before selling it together with my bike
Raeko about 3months + so far no issue. A bit finicky when using gloves. without gloves works fine

high speed wobble usually not bearings
Honda experimented with it in the 70's, it's a combination of bike geometry, damping, aero and weight distribution
can you try shifting your weight while wobbling, and see if it makes a difference?

in my experience
1. tyre (squared) - pressure will affect a bit
2. compression damping (forks)
- if your forks are non-adjustable, try changing the preload and rebound damping and assess the difference
*
forks are adjustable. changing the compression and rebound settings doesn't solve the wobbling.
i've removed the panniers and topbox and wobbling reduced, but still wobble.

installed everything back.

still wobble bwahahahahahhaa
in fact it wobbled even more ahahaha rclxs0.gif

i followed guides on youtube for dirt bike and they tightened the triple clamp too loosely and the handlebar is really loose.
i tighten it just so that it doesn't have any vibration. no gap, but no bite.
bike felt really light, really maneuverable, like i'm on a tracer 9gt but felt kindda weird.

so i opened everything back and tighten it more to add a bit more resistance.

still wobble.
must be the tyres.

so i ordered new tyres.
