All my stuff is zigbee

WiFi is rubbish

No headache if no HA

Wifi can do a lot more customization than zigbee
Of course, flashing firmware is not for everyone that just needs the device to work

cloudcutter just a tool, it just passes the firmware to the device (openebeken or esphome). That database link I posted earlier has all the device configuration details

Currently using Alexa and Google home.
Alexa as the main assistant while google is the backup in the event where Amazon servers are down.

Of course, ultimate goal is to localised everything.
I got an older mini form factor PC in my storeroom (also acts as a cheap server) for home assistant, but I am just really lazy to migrate all the setup I've done on Tuya/smartlife/Xiaomi devices over.

Apple HomeKit + Google home.

HomeKit have the best latency from Siri (command to action for scene take less than 1 second) while Google home for backup.

I use Aqara door lock, Aqara hub and Aqara switches and it support both Google home and HomeKit. One HomePod mini for HomeKit hub in living room and Google home in bedroom.

Voice command for Google home tends to have 5-7 seconds delay while HomeKit is instant. HomeKit is localized, Google home is cloud based.

Siri suck at queries but when it comes to home command, miles ahead of Google.

Nope. I am a paranoid tech freak. I don't trust these tech to protect my privacy and security. I disable cam and voice on Android TV. Also block internet access when sleeping and unplug if outstation or holiday.

Apple got home automation, lol. Its eco system is so tiny compared to Google Home and Alexa. No one using Apple home automation now.
