You can buy Tuya but the automation and integration capabilities is not as great as Home Assistant.
Tuya is cloud based also.

That's not what I meant.

I mean a lot of device sold in Malaysia not supported with cheap price

Tuya is cheaper

Just use homeassistant to integrate all with any voice assistant.
The best ones are always the devices that don't require cloud and fully local
Look what happened to certain brand that just died making their devices useless

Very hard
Need to hack Tuya and Sonoff firmware

But that will be ultimate goal

I already install home assistant in my Synology

Will localize server all my automation in 10 years time
*
For tuya, easier now with cloudcutter, no need to do teardown.
Just install firmware via ota

More headache with the official tuya integration on HA, randomly go offline and stuff
switched to custom firmware and no more issues since

Easier way you just grab the zigbee stuff, and not wifi version

Wish IKEA would bring the IKEA smart home DIRIGERA hub officially into the Malaysian market.

Yes I have home assistant running zigbee and wifi based devices.
Mostly sonoff, some tuya, some ikea zigbee switches, running ZHA and Zigbee2mqtt.

Tuya can also work but it is cloud based so I chose to use Sonoff and ewelink compatible devices instead.

I don't understand what you mean by market availability cause shopee have tonnes of Sonoff products.

Once you have home assistant you can do more advance stuff like facial recognition and all.
