reliable source ...two models coming soon... (8000 series will be with duo drives)
but looks like the dvico 6600 is coming first...

Dvico - New Player from Dvico to replace Dvico 6500a
Dvico with new processor to replace Dvico 6500a

so the remark above refers to 6600 and not 8000series? I guess have to wait longer to find out about the 8000 series then.. cheers

hey terranova, i've decided on the synology rather than the qnap....and as you have already mentioned, the HDD sure fills up fast....i went with the 2bays.....maybe should think abt a 4 bays in the future.
*

then again.....i need to get a pc first, the main one is dying...of old age.
*
oh, are you back here now? I tot you still like 5000-7000km away.. laugh.gif
actually that's also the same question I was wondering... it's only 349 in amazon US...

anyway this doubles as a PC as it's a atom 230 PC... laugh.gif so kill 2 birds with one stone..

the Acer sure looks good with 1TBG HDD incl & the WHS software as well...
think of
1TB HDD = USD100
WHS software = USD100
so the hardware itself only USD150 = RM550 thumbup.gif

can D-link beat that??
*
yeah lor the bones to hold 4 HDD + rack mount only USD150.. that's why I'm so interested.. mpyw taiko can help me bring one in or not? laugh.gif 349 dem cheap lar..

not in KL right now.

nah...the pc will be a pc....nas should be separate unit.

good thing i got that nas right now, as the pc is dying. otherwise my tvix would be somewhat paralyzed.
*
the problem is that the NAS storage prices are crazy.. still at enterprise computing level of pricing rather than consumer level.. and it doesn't offer anything more than this atom based server..
