What are the models of the freebie mesh wifi given by TM currently?
1. Zyxel EX3220-T0
2. DLink DIR-X3060Z
3. DLink DIR-X1860Z
4. Fiberhome SR1041F
5. TPLink - TM don't give TPLink for wifi6 right?
6. DLink DPN-FX3060V AIO (for 1Gbps and 2Gbps plan)

Pls correct if wrong.
*
Just realise that I received Dlink x1860z instead FiberHome stated in job sheet. Still mostly others received 3060.

QUOTE(ThornsFC @ Oct 8 2023, 10:41 AM)
Downgrade (after a non-consensual upgrade) and be forced to another 2-year contract.
The whole purpose of the initiative was a promised price reduction, not price reduction ONLY if you're locked to a further 2-year contract.
There's some people in here who seem to have this notion that the general public visits this thread and if they don't they're "noob", people simply don't come here and scroll through hundreds of pages.
And words don't spread like some suggest, fine example here just a few pages prior > "I keep quiet cos I dun want too many ppl at high speeds. Later my 800mbps suffer. I only told 1 neighbour."

I swear we Malaysians in general have this weirdest urge to discourage and shutdown complaints just for the sake of it,
this kind of anti-consumer attitude from the consumers themselves gotta be one of the major reasons why the monopolies are so comfortable and never go away.
*
Being a silent good pay master and royal customer don't always give you the best value plan or service. One have to be proactive seeking for good deal. Some switch provider every 2 years to enjoy the benefits, some get to drop their unifi tv package and get the lowest price (including discount) plan you never imagine.

Base on past experience, I can predict ISP will not reduce price drastically. You won't like your company earning drop right. So free upgrade is the way. Yes. Not the price reduction is not what most expected. You can bring this to official channel.

Proactive bring you somewhere in real life.

Because WiFi6 support 160MHz by default, stay nearby the router it will be 1200Mbps, enough lol.
WiFi5 is 80MHz, and crappy MIMO, while WiFi6 is MUMIMO by default. wink.gif
*
WiFi 6E 6GHz supported in Malaysia? 6GHz channel should be less interference, much better than current 5GHz.

seems like wifi 6 router all can allow to hit 600Mbps for 500Mbps plan.

i am using wifi 5 can only hit 500Mbps++.  although this is not crucial to me la as it is already overkilled. just purely for speed test purpose.
*
Fast.com usually give higher speed record than Ookla speed test if haven't notice.

It's crazy and ironic that you say this while doing the exact opposite by squashing the voices calling out the company. Remember that not being tied to a contract is our sole bargaining chip, the more they do this the weaker the alternatives to this monopoly become, and it's especially scummy when they do this for no valid reason without consent other than to keep the consumers paying the same.
This isn't about you or me or any single individual who may or may not have arrived at the right corner of the internet or getting a better deal on their own individually, consumerism isn't like this, no one single individual has the power to change things, it requires all of us, and if consumers ourselves can't even recognize that those are shady practices or worse, deny it and be against voices that do, then it's a gigantic L for consumerism. Also worrying about a company's earnings as a consumer is incredibly insane.
*
Did I not mentioned that you should bring this to official. I'm not stopping you. 🤷

If you don't like it stop supporting the company. That's your consumer power.

If Ubiquiti, can hack by changing region to any region that supports 6E. Think that SIRIM has already approved 6E frequency in Malaysia but no one so far has gotten to it yet.

Which tbf currently Wi-Fi 7 (BE) is already out anyway, just wait for those to come down in price for a little bit, or just go to 6E/6 tongue.gif

Last time I checked, only Ubiquiti U6 enterprise support 6E. Others can hack??

I just received, like 30 mins ago, x3060z x 2. Sorry, I mean my neighbour. I wonder what're the differences between x1860z and x3060z.

Closest retail equivalent.

Dlink documentation don't allow us to compare directly. I reckon ax3000 have more Ram/storage. More stream for 5GHz theoretical 2.4Gb vs 1.2Gb on ax1800. I'm not expect on this matter.

Yep for Ubiquiti only U6E, price is not bad for me at least, but currently I'm already on EAP670, should be good for 2-3 more years before the need to upgrade. Only phone in my house that can utilize 6E is my iPhone 15 Pro, all the other devices are 6 and below, so no point buying into 6E/7 atm  tongue.gif
*
WiFi 5 is enough for my 500Mbps. Unless I need faster home network. My router is future ready but my wallet still lagging šŸ˜‚

Anyway the feature that I like is POE. This allow me to mount my AP anyway that my ethernet cable can reach.

Definitely so. Lucky my neighbour's installer gave 2 units, no hassle. He also asked for the old router. I asked if have to return that and he said yes. Then I said I think already throw away (should be C1200, actually no idea where it is now) because rosak then he said no need lah. Understood lah. Want to sell on Carousell.
*
Yeah. Router is belong to us. Only modem belongs to Unifi.

Want to ask. I converted to SWU300@RM119 but chose no installation. Am I supposed to get 2 new Mesh routers only from Unifi? Anything else?

The installer tried to short change me. Say I’m only supposed to get 1 new unit only as I have another one already from previous contract. I pair the two to make Mesh. I argued that the counter told me otherwise then he reluctantly passed me another one

Also is this the Mesh router Dlink 1860Z ?
*
Looks like it.

I think if 800M upgrade is 1G then it will be lowest boost. Maybe gain 150Mbps only.

My installer gave me this too. Someone mentioned depends on stock availability. I'm not using those or any Dlink 🤷

Can request TM to change new ONU if not faulty?

Because my I240G all led not blinking already, but still working.

You can try to contact unifi. It belongs to them, they will replace if faulty, perhaps including led.

Running speedtest (LAN) at my neighbour house 500mbps (previous 300mbps):

if enable ipv6, speedtest unstable. cannot reach 400mbps.
if disable ipv6 (ipv4 only), quickly speedtest reach 535mbps/130mbps.

Tested with Dlink ax3060z?

Then send out proper sms . Don't tell me free speed upgrade .

Tell me I'm converting from 12 months 500Mbps to permanent upgrade .

Such a big listed company , cannot send a proper message to customer ?
*
SWU 3.0 plan was 12 months speed boost only. With the free speed upgrade, now it is permanent. That is free upgrade already for 300 plan. As we know 300 plan subscriber get 500, still hoping for miracle 800?

Perhaps the confusion starts when some report perpetual 500 speed boost then expecting another upgrade. I think some SWU 3.0 users might start asking 1 year later why speed drop.

Go complain šŸ‘šŸ¼
