haha, I dont mind pay RM53, as long they dont reset my contract to 24months.

I checked Shopee got the 12V 1A adapter, only RM8 so cheap, not sure if good or not.

Keyword, TP-Link power adapter, then you find 12v 1.5A ok already.

Hi guys,

question newbie.

My plan is for 300Mbps, and I'm using a router AC1000 CLOUD ROUTER DIR-820L. The router used to be able to achieve 300Mbps via LAN and 5GHz WiFi both phone and desktop, but recently, I'm not sure why, the speed is capped at a maximum of 100Mbps.

abang tm came and inspected, he told me that the network had been upgraded, and my modem no longer supports 300Mbps. and he offered me a new router and contract has to renew for another 2years which I've turned down. Is there such a thing? It used to support 300mbps, but now it no longer does due to the TM network upgrade? cry.gif cry.gif

OK, then probably unifi misconfiguration on your account. Try check with TM, ask them reset your fiber port and test again.

Don't worry. Last time my BTU adapter spoilt, TM came to change for me foc. No on-site charges and, of course, no contract renewal. I was already out of contract at that time. Cos BTU is their equipment and responsibility.

Even though only adapter not working - the adapter died a few months before and I malas to report and was using my own - TM changed both the adapter and the modem.

Abang TM bullshit you. If modem can achieve 300Mbps before, it will continue to do that and reach speeds of up to 1Gbps.

Stuck at a consistent 100Mbps usually indicates cable or port problem.

Check your router to see if it shows the ethernet link speed from the router's WAN port to the modem. It should be 1Gbps.

First thing you can try is another cable from router to modem.

contractor issues, ask TM change another tech for u.
And, it is likely issues in between modem to router, or TM to fiber modem itself.

As we just talk to another here about broken PSU for modem, u should know that it is FOC for modem, no need 24 months reset, so yes, ask them try exchange modem first?
If the tech keep saying it is router, ask him to proof that it is router issues by using a spare router from them, but same cable to modem etc.
---
If I am u, I will unplug the cable from router to PC, then replace it as cable from modem to router, as u just tested this cable running 1Gbps.
Then test using WiFi, if still 100M, then likely modem need the swap new one, which is FOC.

Router warranty is 1 year only if not mistaken. Definitely won't FOC replace for you. Buy new n better router if too old.

How to make decision like that?

What the what what, it works. haha

Is this a common issue? Adapter too old no more power?

No wonder when router or phone turn on it will reset the fiber unit, too much power demand.

I swapped with my hypptv adapter, haha.

Now I have to call TM to replace the adapter, hope they dont charge me.  sweat.gif

Fiber modem belongs to TM. They will replace FOC for you.
