Is this for the ETA (subclass 601)? Are they asking for EPF statements now? Or are you submitting on your own accord?

Yes, for ETA. One of the items listed as proof of financial standing is superannuation (which is EPF in Malaysia)

EPF is manly for those under employment which I believe is the largest segment. It's statement is self explanatory to many other docs

Those you mentioned can always substantiate the likes of tax doc, audit, DHA also accept any form of assets declaration in your home country ie fd print-out etc etc

Well nothing stopping Malaysian passport holders applying for a 600 if the ETA is so variable

I did not translate both my EPF statements, home title paper and even my Birth Cert (duolingo but some parts are 100% bahasa still) in my initial 601 submission

I got my approval 2 days after submitting all the docs. I noticed that the dept of home affairs officer issuing the the approval has an unmistakably Malaysian name. Maybe an ex-Malaysian now working for the Aussie Govt

based on what u share i think its relevant as we are only there for a site visit and max we will make some general business enquiries to understand our overseas business operation.
