Something to share. This is regarding the 4GB Onboard SSD for the EEEPC900.

I did a Virtual PC Setup of 1GB RAM, 4GB Primary & 8GB Secondary Drive, mimicking the constraints you will face on a EEE PC 900 XP.

After turning on NTFS compression disabling page file and moving System Temp Directories, Temp Internet Files & Documents to D:, I was able to install the full versions of the following:

1) Windows XP Professional SP3 (Build 5512) Full Install & Updated
2) Internet Explorer 7
3) Media Player 11
4) Windows Defender
5) Microsoft Outlook 2007 SP1
6) Corel Wordperfect Suite X4 (Office 2007 Compatible) - minus the Corel Mail
7) CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4
8) Mozilla Firefox V2.0.14
9) WinRAR V3.71
10) K-Lite CODEC Pack
11) Filezilla FTP Client
12) USB Safely Remove
13) Skype
14) Skype Recorder
15) Trillian Basic Multi-IM
16) Tweaknow Registry Cleaner Professional
17) AVAST Anti Virus Home
18) Your Uninstaller Pro 2008
19) Ultra ISO
20) Transoft MultiTranse
21) Allok Video Joiner
22) Text Aloud w/Chinese Voice
23) PaintDOTNet
24) Xobni Insight PlugIn For Outlook 2007
25) Nokia PC Suite

All the above are full versions installed in the 4GB drive with NTFS COMPRESSION Turned ON. Other than games, the above should keep any road warrior pretty happy and productive, and has proven to myself that I don't need to live with the anemic Via C7 processor and can safely take the plunge into the EEEPC 900. rclxm9.gif

not really. by that time, ATOM processor is already in mass production, the price will keep dropping. smile.gif maybe will close to current celeron 900mhz selling price.

but tat's not final yet...

anyway, the price rm1600-1700 for 900model seem reasonable. asus is selling eeePC XP version at usd399, with 4GB SDHC and mini mouse thrown in shocking.gif

guys,

what's up I am doing currently in the middle of doing review for eee PC of mine. I'll let u know once it done.

About the above, it's that all I need? again I couldn't find a how-to install XP for usb version. Any links?

and if applicable, what other important steps that we need to do in order usb-install?

Thank you in advance.

ps: actually the review a bit time-consuming because I am thinking of doing good-looking video about it (with some applicable drama according to my plan) so that's why. Friend getting new camcorder but still in shipping. So hopefully I don't get bashed on kept saying "in the middle of review etc." hehe..
