from what i know, 1yr warranty provided is usually unofficial warranty provided by supplier. 2yr warranty only available if the eeePC being distributed by Asus Malaysia.
AFAIK, all current eeePC only 1yr warranty since Asus Malaysia havent officially launch the product here. correct me if i'm wrong |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 6 2008, 10:52 AM) Google and download this tiny application called AltWindowDrag... add this to your startup. just got my eeePC 4G black. in fact, now online with it This allows you to drag menus around by pressing alt + pointing anywhere in the menu. the first issue encounter is the oversize window. found a program called moveme. http://www.damnsoft.org/cgi-bin/ghostgui.c...;section=moveme |

i tried ini setting on eeectl 0.2.2 and it seem like once i underclock to 4xxMHz, i cant even clock it back to higher clockspeed, even default 630Mhz.
btw, ini files for eeectl 0.2.2 are different from 0.2.0, need some remodification. anyway, i'm happy with 630Mhz speed. battery still can last pretty long for me to surf 3-4hrs, brightness 40% here a tip for those using 2GB ram. since XP doesnt actually need 2GB, try install SuperSpeed RamDisk and allocate 256MB or higher for ramdisk. change TEMP/TMP/Temporary Internet Files/etc to ramdisk. this reduce wear and tear to ur SSD and best of all, it's DAMN FAST Added on February 13, 2008, 8:15 am QUOTE(xeNOS @ Feb 13 2008, 08:12 AM) I noticed that there is the 'void if remove' sticker on the eee pc RAM door, so does it mean that we will void the warranty if we upgrade the RAM? thx ! use a needle or knife, slowly peel off. stick it somewhere which can be removed easily later. if anything happen and need RMA, replace back the RAM and stick back the sticker This post has been edited by toughnut: Feb 13 2008, 08:19 AM |

QUOTE(xeNOS @ Feb 13 2008, 03:08 PM) u mean u hv the empty Mini PCIe slot? it can be use to expand storage if u can get hold of a larger SSD, but sloting the SSD into the PCIe slot will disable the onboard SSD. in this case its just a backup if the onboard SSD goes kaput AFAIK, only earlier batch has mini pcie slot for 4G Webcam version. another thing is that slotting in new SSD wont disable the onboard 4GB SSD. u have the option to select which is primary boot device.which serial number ver u using ? from waht i noe, the 7A only has the mini PCIe and some of the 7B series also has it. i own a 7C series but i haven pop open to chk... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(Tainted @ Feb 13 2008, 03:38 PM) go to pasar malam and check out those small bags. i saw a few leather pouch that can fit eeePC nicely This post has been edited by toughnut: Feb 13 2008, 04:56 PM |
