thank bro for the info,..
I am currently using XP pro sp2, Office 97, drivers for eeepc. my SSD 4G left 480MB. so i am considering to lower down the space consumption. I dont use linux because of the software compatibility, although the interface is nice and neat.
I did half way tried the Nlite software but no confident because some of the software need personal preference which i am not too familiar with the windows. you know la.. dummy like me just full install the whole XP everything to prevent from the errors to pop up. So i was asking if anybody had done the nlite and confirm no issue, can share their ideas and opinion.
normally i dont bring the 2.5" out unless necessary... My SDHC 8G/16G is more than enough for the usage...
thanks again...

jeromeccm = no lah... im searching for second hand 701, 900 is way overbudget for me.. i already have a PC and looking for a cheap laptop for surfing and work purpose..
pangping1510 = as far as i know there is no 701 2gb here in Malaysia.. the cheapest and lowest spec for eeepc is 701 4gb surf linux.. rm1199 from the trade zone..
you could wait for the 900 version to hit malaysia and hope that the price for 701 will come down..
or you could get a second hand eeepc when 900 comes out cause by that time im sure a lot of people is selling their 701 to upgrade to 900

I also got pc at home... Quad core with 9800GTX. for gaming... i think eeepc is worth buying... especially attract chicks.... ke ke ke... chicks tend to look at you when you get this pc...

hi guys... i manage to increase my memory space but removing the files according to the manual book. Question: Pagging files... in default is 756MB. the bigger the paging file setting, the better is the space consumption or the other way round? I have 1G RAM at the moment. as for the graphic memory crrently is 64MB, i have check the bios.. i couldnt find the setting for the memory or there isnt option for the memory size change.... thinking of increase it to avoid visual lagging...

jeromeccm = the bigger the paging file, the more space XP will use in the harddisk as if it was RAM..
The paging file is the area on the hard disk that Windows uses as if it were random access memory (RAM) This is sometimes known as "virtual memory." By default, Windows stores this file on the same partition as the Windows system files. You can increase the performance of Windows, and increase free space on the boot partition, by moving this file to a different partition. (taken from microsoft support website)
i ve got an offer by a forummer...
eee pc here i come!! huhuhu...
splua333 = im sure if you post it in lelong or garage sale.. the eeepc is going to be sold in mere hours.. cause your price is among the lowest ive seen... 1k nett for a used eeepc is cheap dude...plus, there is someone in the garage sale that is looking for one for rm 1000.. give it a try..

jeromeccm, the avg batt life of the Eee is around 2.5-3hrs only... what is urs ? er... i don think is wise to charge it for more after the batt is full lo.. normally charging for 2.5-3hrs will bring the batt to full capacity...
