as for RAM, i had called up n confirmed with them last time, they said is perfectly ok to change on our own but 1GB is recommended so no worries

think u better call Asus 2molo and chk with them regarding the batt... i try get the specs from the web if not mistaken i saw it somewhere....

mine galaxy black with webcam has the larger capacity battery..

jz got the specs here... but they din state the actual mAH of the batt... jz the estimated batt time...

yeah i did

sudo cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info

and it shows 5200mAh

now i feel bad for that guy i called up earlier to complian and me going to ffk him muahahaha

Xenos,i found it depend on the theme u use too.I 'm using 900 x 540 and font size at "large",it looks great.However,with another different theme (VXP if not mistaken),i found the font is small even i change it to "extra large".

Another thing,how do u make the new res activate at window start up? How u put the shortcut in start up folder? (step by step please,i'm TOTALLY newbie,hehe)

Using it before. But have to VLite it 1st since min requirement for HDD is 10G.

After VLite it, install to Eee with disable the paging file, left 1.6G for Vista Ultimate.
All driver supported in Vista. Wireless LAN driver can share with XP's.

Aero cant works. Since only get 1.0 for graphics...

("ah hem" cant work on Vlited vista)

but 900X540 look a bit distorted on ions and menus..
its like when i mouse over an icon it change a bit
it feels weird..

800x600 works best for me.. (downscaled)

i dunno hw to activate the new res at startup... but to move things to startup folder jz go to

START->All Programs->Startup
now, right-click on startup and select OPEN
a new window 'Startup' will open.

so basically u jz drag watever shortcuts u want into the newly opened window

prazole,900 x 540 on my Eee looks ok but need to change the font to "Extra Large" with customised theme.Anyway,i found 800 x 600 or 640 x 480 looks fine too.

Another thing,i found Video Playback and Screen Saver are not smooth and lagging if use 900 x 540,most probably becos of the celeron cpu...

mine too just checked 501 webcam model but batterry is 4400

Don't know it's real or not. Just bought another EEE for a friend & they say new batch gonna be RM1,399 for the 4G webcam version. By the way, my car charger working fine but charging is slower then the normal AC adapter.

Yup!!maybe can get this price,actually,EEEpc is very cheap only,juz is always shortage,so all dealer n shop ppl make up the price loh..
