Kaon able to lock 5G NSA or SA mode. Definitely no fall back to 4G

could you please advise on how to make the old router act as AP?

I have a DLink DVG F245 Unifi router.

so far i connected from ZTE MC888s LAN port 1 to DVG WAN port, unfortunately no internet.
Already turned off WiFi in ZTE.
Set DVG to AP mode (inside got AP, AP+MESH & MESH modes)
Set default DVG router IP address to 192.168.0.2 instead of 1 at the back.

What are the settings for a typical routers to act as AP ya?

I tried disabling DHCP in DVG but still no internet.
then i saw PPPoE settings, my username & password still uses the unifi one.

should i change this?

wow not bad my ZTE MC888s bundled router not making anymore auto reboot these few days.

must be the 5G tower not having anymore problem i suppose?
cancel my desire to buy Nokia FastMile 3 5G router.

let's see how long will ZTE can last before it becomes auto reboot 

the longest record before this was 16 hours
shortest was 2 minutes

for me still ZTE and my 2nd request for a replacement - still pending ... not sure what will i get.

based on this comment - not sure should i swap my current ZTE, incase they give me a KAON as replacement.

btw, my ZTE is  up and running again on 5G.

turns out the router was too hot after it ran for approximately 2 weeks without any fan cooling.

I turned off ZTE and let it cool down for 10-15 minutes then run again, can get back 5G with ~250Mbps DL ~50Mbps UL.
now running a small JisuLife fan use at Speed 3 setting to keep it cool.

will monitor again should it drop back to 4G+ only due to excessive heat.

Last time i opened up my zte. Have a usb fan direct cooling the heat plate. Still the same. Unlikely heat issue. Modem still reboot unexpectedly. May be different issue from yours.

no i meant for the Kaon one. got internal fan inside? Since forumer ericsow says no overheat. 
[Update on my ZTE fallback to 4G issue]

Still going back to 4G+, sometimes 4G. Got fedup already. When I pay RM68 for the 5G, I wanted specifically 5G all the time! 

Then, after meddling with settings, I forced ZTE to connect to 5G NSA only in Router option -> Network Selection, bands locking are by default & connection is Automatic (default).

Now got constant 5G with speed as previous  .

Will continue to monitor again if router will keep on auto rebooting (which I suspect it WILL) 

ZTE also uses customized firmware for u-mobile
