QUOTE(Omochao @ Dec 7 2024, 06:18 PM) This seller looks very sus (err Doraemon?) and comes from China. FYI there are also imitation PTM which will work nearly the same as ori but later degrade faster. Anyhow I hope its genuine for you... |

I did look on the reviews, so far no one mentioned about degrading even going as far back as 1 year reviews. If it really is, then is still worth it. |

There are countless of reviews being commented and not a single 1 star yet on this shop. The other person ask for a link, I just shared from where I got it from, I have no referral or affiliation with that store. |

I'm interested in this so did some digging, searching for good source for the item
In lazada taobao collection section where its linked to taobao's sellers, only found like 6 different sellers on taobao collection though.. There's a popular benchmarker/tester streamer on bilibili (chinaYT?) called 极客温控/極客溫控 /GEEKTC/GEEKCOOLING selling phase his taobao store, another one is 星创热控 (sells on taobao & PDD). Avoid GeekTC's aliexpress, someone created a YT acc recently took his old bilibili's video and edit out the outro where he promotes his shop to their aliexpress store. both aliexpress and yt is made a few months ago, doesnt make sense 热界面材料行业水有多深?7950国产和泰产区别 https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Bx4y1U7VQ/ This 星创热控 guy talks about the different products in his store & I didn't know that honeywell made thai version of the product There's subtitle in the video, for those who don't understand can use their phone camera to google translate it, pause and play or 0.5x speed. am I able to post a list of lazada store url linking to taobao seller/store name? Recently, whenever I turned on my laptop, i notice my fan will like ramp up to a certain speed compared to last time when I was still using paste, initially assume that the PTM I used was a fake, then I just remembered reading from reddit, that some people after repasting with PTM , need to re-tighten the heat sink screws again as the sheet might have flatten down a bit and thus causing less contact with the heatsink and the chip die.
So just now, took apart and tightened it slightly and make sure that the screws have no more turns. Did another round of test, and even with performance mode, the temp won't spike even to 70-80celsius for the CPU. Hopefully this PTM last long and I don't have to take apart for a long time to repaste. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Almost forgotten to share another use case for another laptop in which i did for a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 with Ryzen 7 5800H / RTX 3060.
Reopened it and try to tighten back the heat sink screw, but doesn't seems to be the case as I can only feel that the turns for the screw not much and don't want to risk stripping off the screw. Run another Unigine Superposition test, with 1080p HIGH settings. And all I could say I'm really impressed by the thermals being done by this PTM 7950. All readings for both CPU GPU didn't even hit 70c at all Laptop power options - Balance mode, with processor boost management set to disabled. Maximum processor set to 99% » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by Omochao: Dec 29 2024, 09:53 AM |

QUOTE(pandah @ Dec 30 2024, 12:35 AM) This stuff is not meant for us consumers its for industrial & OEM usage ie mainly on laptops & GPU heatsink. If you have the volume, Im sure Honeywell Msia will accommodate or at least point you to their regional distro. |

Yet another success story after switching to Honeywell PTM7950!
Just look at those temps! The fans are noticeably quieter too—and I didn’t even clean them! Before: ![]() After: ![]() This post has been edited by sHawTY: Feb 26 2025, 02:24 PM |

For Malaysians looking to use PTM7950 in our hot weather, here’s an additional tip: Besides chilling the PTM7950 in the freezer, you can also freeze some water on a shallow plate. Once the water has turned to ice, place the PTM7950 on top of it while you work on removing the old paste, cleaning the heatsink, and fans. This will help keep the PTM7950 cool for longer, making it easier to handle during application. With this method, peeling off the plastic film becomes much easier. Also, to minimize heat transfer from your fingers to the PTM7950, cover your fingers with tissue or another insulating material while handling it. Hope this helps! Putting on ice might cause tiny layer of moisture condense on the surface. Imho even if want to chill it while working, better to put on dry ice (the kind you get from Baskin 31)Besides chilling the PTM7950 in the freezer, you can also freeze some water on a shallow plate.
