Oh... just got a tyre puncture this afternoon

A very small nail punctured the 3-month old rear tyre (ouch!)

I think it was punctured a few days back, and start to leak slowly as i noticed few days before, the bike's rear tend to throw out on corners and bends

cost RM 45 for labour charges + material to patch up the tyre. Haih... what bad luck.

New Battlax 016 160/60/R-17 costs RM 580 here. Have to start saving now as I expect the stock dunlop tyres will last 10,000km only...

haha... biking experience....

But punctured tyre, normal kapchai shop can fix bro... for less than RM10.... They use the "Cacing" too.... smile.gif

Haizzz.... bike shop.... such rip off....
*
from my experience on car tyres, "cacing" or they also call "tembak" repair not so good since air can still leak, and it doesn't seal properly

since the tyre is new, they patch the tyre from inside. normally, a car tyre shop will charge you rm 10 - 15, including labour

yeah, i know it's a bit too expensive. but they are very careful. no scratch on swingarm (use paddock) and most importantly, no scratch on the shiny black enkei wheels. for that, i'd say the price is a bit justified.

i'd rather pay rm 45 for a very careful job rather than rm 15 + lots of scracthes on the still shiny swingarm + wheels. sakit hati wiii...

Well said....

Yes... use our brain... izzit that hard ? no problem...

U also fine, rite bro ? Learnign to ride Er6 is easy... just make slow progress....

laugh.gif
*
ER6-n is surprisingly easy to maneouvre in heavy traffic. as long as you don't handle-lock yourself, you'll be alright

the gears and clutches are also very forgiving. even if you pop your clutch, the bike won't lunge forward

and the torquey engine lets you use 3rd gear to go from 10km/h to 80km/h, and then takes a 40km/h corner at the junction

but still have lots to learn. still makes lots of mistake when changing gears. and have yet to master throttle blipping when downshifting. so, many things to learn slowly...

very nice looking, and very very tall

i can't even sit on it, even with the stand down

the bike even has traction control. and the multi function meter can be controlled with switches on the "left hand side control place" (dunno what name, LOL), just like a BMW tourer

Anyone tried the Z750R?

I have second thoughts when riding naked bikes. My frame is 184cm so I dont know if its suitable or not. Not like can test ride on highway.
*
from my very short 3 month experience, naked bike doesn't mix well with speed

unless you have a very big windshield installed, which is kind of ugly and defeats the purpose of a naked bike

why not hang out at your fav bike shop and maybe one of the customers will come in with a Z750 and you can ask him kindly to lend his beloved ride for a while... laugh.gif

i tell you, buy the bike first. later think about license

that way, you won't procastrinate to get the license

you'll be FORCED to take the license asap so you can peel off the L sticker from your bike

QUOTE(yaoding @ May 24 2012, 10:21 PM)
Today went out check out bikes after i got my way lost on the way to Kawasaki dealer shop at bandar sunway.
Took the wrong turning then arrived at Petaling Utama and saw alot of bike shops there.
I thought "WTH, might as well check out lah"

First shop i went into is a Naza Bikers shop and saw Blade250r. MAN! It was HUGE! WOW! Really looked like a 600cc.
Checked out the price and downpayment then head out to the 2nd shop beside it.

In between those shops all selling kapchais and cruiser bikes.

At the second shop, went in and saw Er6f and Er6n and other yamaha, kawasaki, hondo bikes. Then i saw the Ninja250r.
It got my heart racing. I guess my heart just betrayed my wallet :/
It was huge compared to pictures and videos i found online, but still not as huge as the Blade.

I think Ninja250 will be my target liao. Gonna quickly save up and get it. Looks so good.
But if i am rich, i just might even get the Blade as well lol. It looks good, quality wise Ninja wins Blade abit from what i see. Don't know about the engines and stuff though.
But hey, you get what you pay for, but still it looks good.

Ninja250 wise, getting it is not bad i'd say. D/P 1-2k higher , monthly loan payment is around the same between that two bike. Only you have to pay extra 1 year for the ninja.
I still consider it not bad lol.

After looking at them, really gave me a new perspective. Blade won't be a bad choice to get but still i will go for Ninja because my heart got racing when i saw it. LOL.
Hardcore saving mode ON!
*
try shop for a 2nd hand ninja and you may save a few k's for your accessories or even your next upgrade... brows.gif

Those riding er6n/f, z750, z1k, can you guys fully put both feet on the ground when on the bike?

Please include your height in your reply too.

smile.gif

I really hate that I can only tiptoe on my R6 despite being at least 175cm.
*
er6-n, 2012 - which is significantly lower than thee previous years)

165cm

a bit of tip toe. if one leg on the foot peg, then one side feet can fully touch the ground, w/o any tilting

haha... i wish

the only advantage the N104 is the very large view port, which is helpful when navigating through city traffic

modular or no modular i can get used to it already. so not a biggie.

plus side for n85 - lighter and cheaper.

got a cheap deal for a brand new n85 at rm799. gonna take 30 min to decide now

just missed a sweet deal for 2-month used n85 at rm450 in mudah. arrr....

this is really an impulse purchase doh.gif doh.gif

The very basic thing to check when buying helmet is whether it is certified for safety or not, Snell. DOT etc..
You may not wanna go for track but if you were, this is compulsory or would be better for your own safety. Check the code like E1, E3 etc at the strap. Can google approved code..
No matter how expensive, will worth the money you paid for..  biggrin.gif
*
both the nolan has Snell and DOT approval

Heck, even the budget chinese made, MHR brand helmet that I am currently using is ECER certified. laugh.gif

but no matter how good or expensive your helmet, it is pretty useless if the rider doesn't have any common sense and or doesn't practise riding safely and defensively

as usual, ATGATT

any women specific helmet in the market ka?

i sport a ponytail, a very high, ala japanese samurai type ponytail

so wearing a helmet will exert too much pressure on the hair so i just undo the ponytail

or i have to slide the helmet way up, but the visor will be too low

can you, miss sifoo, share me your experience? with your lovely flowing hair, you must have lots of info to share

and oh yeah. the nolan n85 vortex white is on its way now... can't wait to try on a light helmet (claimed 1,400+g only)

ahh.. helmet.

Any good suggestion for newbies which tight on budget? Affordable but worth it and its a full face type. LOL

Rm200 and less? unsure.gif

*
for ff helmet, you can find DOT and ECER certified for around rm200+. but those are from china brands (MHR, LS2)

but don't look down on them, even the china brand HJC (starting from rm300+) is used by Ben Spies (his replica helmet is avalaible, and is made in taiwan for rm 1,000+)

the most significant differences between a 200+ and 800+ or even 2,000+ helmets are the level of comfort

weight - the lighter it is, the better for your neck and shoulders
liners - washable, comfortable, climacool, bla bla bla
vents - many many vents
noise - very low noise intrusion
visor - anti fog, anti scracth, built in sun visor, pin lock, etc etc
design & shape - comfort (internal) & aerodynamics (external) and also look (overall)

QUOTE(farique @ May 26 2012, 09:27 PM)
ahh.. helmet.

does Bell cheap? Or, there's a copy of Bell around?
*
Bell is mid range price, just like Nola, AGV, and some other european brands (bar Schuberth or X-Lite). Prices range from 700 - 1,000+

the expensive ones are from japanes manufacturers - arai & schoei. cheapest ff also 1,800+.

design wise, of cos arai & shoei is a class above the rest. but that is just my personal experience lar

i only get a mid range price ff helmet to be used every day. why buy 2k helmet if you go to pasar have to put the expensive helmet at the counter, and risk it get scratched (or worse, stolen?)
