any helmets will not be able to insulate noise at that speed!

wear an earplug instead. if u have done so, then start wearing a better earplug

*
why not add another rm100 or so and you can get italian made, i.e. agv, nolan, etc.?

Modular or FF?
*
it's a full face

the N104 is the modular one, costing on avg RM 1,150 - one of the best bang for your buck, modular helmet in the market

the N104 and N85 were my choices initially. but finally chose the N85 as it was lighter (200+g lighter) and cheaper (rm800) than an N104

the only advantage the N104 has is being modular, which i find is only necessary when i go to mcdonald's to order my mccikin meal. laugh.gif

the N85 is also described by many reviews as a full-face version of the very popular N104 modular helmet

Any good FF or Modular Helmet under RM800??
I'm currently looking at HJC and Nolan..  thumbup.gif
*
Nolan N90 is around your price range. it's a step down from N104 / N103

here are modular choices, below rm 800

http://www.revzilla.com/modular-motorcycle...eatured&price=2

full face, again below rm 800 (< USD 199)

http://www.revzilla.com/sportbike-helmets#...eatured&price=2

but not all are in malaysia. if you insist, you can ask someone to order from you. i know Omar Kassim (fb) can help you order

help yourselves... and put up a pic for us when you have finally gotten your hands on one

Caberg Konda at less than RM700.

this one i have to mention, although it's an italian brand, it is made in china (or maybe taiwan)

neverthelss, it got an excellent rating from webbikeworld

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-...onda/review.htm

currently, the trend is to shift manufacturing of mid to low end helmets to china / taiwan for cheaper cost

japanese reign supreme with their super premium shoei and arai

I'm looking for a helmet that is suitable for urban environment and everyday riding. For upright position riding.
Is it hot in a FF when stationary at the traffic light?? If it's hot then I might be getting a Modular.
*
then you might as well go for an open face helmet

even if you wear modular, you can't expect to open up the chin bar everytime you stop on a traffic light

but based on my very lmited experience with full face (2 month+), it is not as hot as i initially thought. when riding around city, i tilt open the visor a bit and let air in when stationary

that is why my priority in getting a ff helmet is the ventilation and the n85 is very generous with it - chin, brow, head vents, ventouri spoiler at the back. trade off is wind noise at high speed

I don't think so....  Unlike cars, i don't think that bike have trade plate, like normal test drive car have....

How to know ? Simple.... Just sit on top of the bike.... And read lotsa review...haha....

Tell us, what type of bike that u like, characteristics etc....haha...  laugh.gif
*
let's just try to categorize bikes for this guy and all noobies, including me

first thing, bike type. there's just these few bike types around

1. super sport

- fully faired
- crouching position
- uncomfortable at low speed
- e.g. Ninja 250, R1, GSXR, Fireblade, Panigale 1198, etc etc

2. street bike / naked

- minimal fairing or even none at all
- as per name, easy to maneuvre in traffic / slow speed
- more upright riding position
- e.g. ER6-n, Streetfighter, XJ6, Street Triple

3. dual purpose (motard, supermotard, supermoto?)

- suitable for both road and off road
- almost upright riding position; tall suspensions
- e.g. Versys (not a true DP, but ok lar), BMW (what model?)

4. touring bike ?

- suitable for very long journey
- usually very big cc engine
- e.g. goldwing,

5. cruisers / easy rider / custom

- harleys, harleys, harleys
- harleys, harleys, harleys
- custom

feel free to edit, expand and give more details for newbies. at least those are what i understood when i was doing my (very short) research before splurging cash on an er6-n

suprisingly, they are quite open and can just tell me their sizes outright wub.gif

unfortunately that privilege comes when you run the business, not when you work for it

QUOTE(technosakai @ May 30 2012, 11:56 AM)
Bro test dy then comment sikit smile.gif Like its weight, fit and ventilation smile.gif
*
use for 1 day already

not yet broken in properly so the cheek padding is a bit too thick

ventilation is superb. 5 (FIVE !) vents - 1 mouth vent, 1 brow vent, 2 top vent (which can be reversed so you can either choose to use it as cold air intake or use it as hot air exhaust)

then there is the rear spoiler which acts as a ventouri lip and suck hot air out from the rear vents

noise is quite bad. turbulence is expected from the many vents

the dark visor is very nice

some fogging in the morning (unexpected, but maybe because there is still lots of debris as it sits in the box for quite some time

the helmet is light - very light for the price. 1.5kg for a rm 800 italian made helmet, which is good (of coz there's 1.2kg helmets, but price is a killer)

if you have more interest, perhaps you can just remind me again one month from now, after i use it everyday

Lucifah : Nice helmet u got there.... But Noise dampening not good ?  sad.gif
*
Only used for a few days. tried at 120km/h

but still, wind noise is better than my previous china made MHR helmet

but at that high speed, the helmet stays intact, and my head is not strained by wind (quite aerodynamic i can say), which i think is worth every single ringgit i paid for it

i don't quite understand the need for the pinlock in our weather / climate condition

the n85 comes with the pinlock, but i don't see any use of it in our hot and humid 2-season climate?

Trying to locate the factory/bulk for this jacket over at Vietnam - but nobody seems to know who the supplier is in Vietnam. Wanted to see what other stuffs they make...
