after barely covering 600km, my mileage on average is 5.0L/100km, which translates to 20km/L (this is based on the multi-info meter display on the bike)
a RM 20 RON95 fill up would last me just slightly over 200km so, it's 10sen / km for me, which is more than double i had expected (my scooter was 4 sen / km before) RM 20 / RM1.90/L = 10.52 L for 200 km = 5.2L/100km = 19.2km/L i should say, the meter on the bike is pretty accurate hopefully i could get better mileage (aiming at 8 sen / km) after the first oil change and the break in period... how about you guys? quite curious to see how much an R1 drinks... |

QUOTE(undentifyxd @ Apr 3 2012, 12:26 PM) QUOTE(sanosizo @ Apr 3 2012, 01:23 PM) we dont call it superbike if it is under 150cc. superbicycle maybe, if its equipped with 150cc engine. i think what he meant is a 150cc bike with "superbike-ish look"the Yamaha TZM is an old favorite, but no longer in production - 2nd hand value quite high. about 6k for a 10+ yr old bike. Kawasaki KIPS is also another option - but don't know whether they still manufacture or not of course you have KTM for a supermoto look naked look bike, u have the belang & fz150, and of course the ever popular rxz but this is not the proper thread to know more about these bikes.... |

holy shit
today i managed to get past 800km, which then allows me to rev up to 6,000rpm i rode the bike at 130km/h - my gawd, it was hard! the wind just push you to the back, and you're struggling to hold on the handle bars... wind noise in the helmet is loud. very loud. and it's getting more difficult to breathe, since air travel too fast, that most of it didn't even go into your helmet vent i hold onto it for 3 - 5 mins max, and came out shaken. just can't imagine how u guys can do 180km/h on a neekkid bike, let alone a 300km/h on a proper faired bike i think i have to learn how to crouch on the bike to reduce wind resistance. any guide, sifus? |

thanks all for your support and guidance. still learning how to ride it fast, and more importantly, safely
QUOTE(alkt @ Apr 5 2012, 01:37 AM) my answers for u above in blue if i dun hold the handlebar tightly, i feel as if i'm gonna fly off the bike. seriously. LOL[alkt: dun hold too hard, just relax with the handlebar and ride] [alkt: try to tuck in a bit] and how do i tuck in a bit? it's a nekkid bike, so it's an upright riding position QUOTE(phobian @ Apr 5 2012, 01:39 AM) You are not used to it yet. It took me awhile to get used to the wind at 3/4 riding position while maintaining speeds of 160-180. Anything after that will be rempit style of baby crouching or full tuck-in position. my shoulders hurt a bit, is it normal? Before you do anything, just make sure you've got a right fitting helmet to reduce the free play on drag lift. Otherwise you will be dealing a lot with movements with the extra free space and it is complete hazardous. Imagine that you have to focus on the road and worry about the helmet not being securely fit at the same time. To get into a full tuck-in mode, just google for Rossi's pic and mimic his riding position and aim for 200km/h and beyond! full tuck in mode? possible with an upright riding position? hm... QUOTE(monaz @ Apr 5 2012, 01:51 AM) But the hand position on handle is different on naked and super bike. Screen on speedo dash may be help. What you say? those extra high windshield doesn;t look nice. but will it help?i mean, they cost quite a lot (was quoted rm 900+ for an ori kawa w/shield) and perhaps can be used only when doing long distance? |

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Apr 6 2012, 03:18 PM) can straight jump but it will cost more lah. probably 800-1000 I guess. and then you need to attend some theory test if I'm not mistaken. if you already have a B2 and D license, you can go to jpj and make the L BFull. then register at school, straight away complete 8 hours of practical training then take the test. if you have experience with clutch bike with tank between your legs, then it will be very easy. if your L-license already expire more than 1 year, then you have to renew your L license firstperhaps we should rename the thread to Big Bike instead? cost? rm 125 + 2 day theory course then, after 1 month of L license issuance, then u can take JPJ test i kena oledi mah. my L license expired in 1997. so have to renew everything, wait for 1 month to take test. luckily can kawtim with the school so no need to attent the 2-day course or do the min 8 hour practical training. |

QUOTE(ikiey @ Apr 8 2012, 07:23 PM) if your L license expired more than 1 year (in my case, i had my drivign license 14 years ago), you have to resit the boring mandatory lecture, but no need table testhave to pay around 125 for the lessons - which i paid, and didn't turn up. just sign up the attendance list since it's mostly for noobies trying to pass their L table test |

just got my B full license today, after a 3 minute JPJ test! - riding a 30+ years old CB550-four!
awesome feeling! now i can peel off the L stickers from ma bike and ride like a boss... total damage? RM 630, including the mandatory theory classes (which I didn't attend but got certified), L license renewal, QTI (just sign some papers), JPJ exam fees, and bla bla bla. in short, everything from A to Z cost me RM 630 + rm 8 (for passport photo) |

QUOTE(HoNeYdEwBoY @ Apr 12 2012, 10:11 AM) if i getting a new FZ, and just mod the casing should be 10k+ right ? i think this price should be fine. FYI, the GIVI side box (or panniers) cost RM 2,500+ for the pair. the top box may be cheaper.IDK how much the fairing costs, but if it's in the range of 2,000, you are looking at a total of more than 5k for the same mod in the pic QUOTE(kapalterbang_737 @ Apr 12 2012, 10:55 AM) Alhamdulillah at last acquired my old but newly owned by me bike congrats bro~ good price you get. me noob, so will stick with a beginner er6n bike for a very very long time. Can't afford the newest model, still student liao But i do like this design a lot compared to the 07 and current model, especially the color » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Review till I am afraid to ride at it lol. which one is not good and dangerous? AFAIK, all bikes, if ridden like a drunken man, is dangerousKIPS, or in this case, any 150cc 1-cylinder bike is considered as a low maintenance bike already, if compared to a 2-, 3- or 4- or more cylinder engines |

QUOTE(avengers88 @ Apr 14 2012, 09:08 PM) I meant the KIPS. My friend told me that it's dangerous for new riders like me. I might not get use to it, he recommeneded the fz. I am really new at this, going to go for the classes soon to get the license lol. just to tell you the truth. 1 month ago, i was riding a scooter onlyno experience riding a geared moped, let alone a moped with clutch now i'm at ease with a 650cc engine and clutches + 6 gears to play with actually, i'm finding the er6n is a bit too slow for me already... |

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Apr 18 2012, 11:10 AM) kips 200kmh is not the same as 200kmh er6n. most probably 175kmh only. but with minor modifications it can do almost 200kmh er6n speed. thats insane speed for a bike that small. this one very truethe er6-n @ 100km/h is very scary to a noob like me. but when i'm on my scooter, 100km/h seems so slow. must be exagerrated speedometer installed by yamaha to make customers happy |

just had my first oil change service. broke her virginity already at 1,000km.
2L of Top 1 Oil Action Plus 10w-40 RM 25/L x 2L = RM 50 filter + labor + oil = RM 105 + free 100 plus drink. dunno suitable oil or not, 10w-40? i noticed 15w-50 is more expensive? why? usually, it's the other way round. motul 15w-50 costs rm50/L (!) and Top1 is RM 36/L. |
