Can i just upgrade my iPod touch firmware myself or i have to go to shops? If go , go where to upgrade? LOL.

You just need to install iTunes in your computer. Sync your ipod touch and just update your firmware. Don't waste your time going back to the shop. Google it is a smarter choice.

Hi all Im new in Ipod Touch. I saw the 1st thread and its jail breaking but not sure whether mine is latest firmware as just got it from Apple Malaysia online store. May I ask what should I do first when I used it as Im still charging it. Any site for software outside as I seen only store in Apple Aps only. Thanks alot guys and girls. ^^ .

hi. Firstly, I reckon that your iPod touch is the 2nd generation product. Unfortunately the 2nd generation iPods can't be jailbreak at the moment . And about the apps, you can just dowload from the app store from the itunes. There's a considerably amount if free apps which is usefull such as stanza(ebooks) or fring(msngr). The problem of syncing videos into the iPods is that you'll need to convert it to .mp4 file first. Try using videora iPod converter and it should be easy. Hope this helps.

No problem. It may take a while though to convert it and it depends on the file size too. About the iTunes account you register without needing the CC option. Refer to page 30 for more information.

Yes i try it a few times with 3-4 different address and it seems to block at the final step where you click non even you select US address. it block you and keep saying please use CC payment. SOB...

use MediaCoder for ipodtouch. i think it is much faster than videora.

no there is no region whatsoever from the Device point of view. warranty is also international so feel free to get one in Australia if the price is cheaper than in Malaysia.

guys, really need help here. juz now i upgraded my ipod firmware to 2.2 and tried to jailbreak it using quickpwn 2.2. but when it gets to the steps where we need to wait for the ipod to connect in recovery mode, the quickpwn get stuck like not responding. everytime i tried it get stuck at that step. sum1 help me please. btw, my touch is 1st gen. thanks

that's strange. i just ran the jailbreak using quickpwn just now and it went smoothly. follow the onscreen instructions to the letter.

*update* knew tat ver 2.2 f/w can b jailbreaked (1st gen ipod touch)......but the problem is, it'll need the ipsw file to be in my computer....now the issue is the ipod i got 2nd hand from another forumer, and he updated to ver 2.2 at some dunno wad shop...so he doesn't have the ipsw file which u guys normally get if u update the f/w urself using itunes... so how do i go about that now???

any advice and suggestions is very much appreciated.....tqtq

after restoring...can i just update it back to v2.2 f/w FOC? since the touchy has been updated to v2.2 before the forumer sell it to me....

just curious on how does it works...if juz with the ipsw file we can reupdate the f/w to v2.2...den i can juz giv my v2.2 f/w ipsw file to my friend's touchy which is running on v1.5...den update his f/w FOC also??
