that is very bad  doh.gif  doh.gif

imagine if they chose not to continue the 4% p.a.

how long would it takes for account closure and to get back the final RM20.

do BNM have any guidance or timeline where bank must process closure of account within x period?
*
They very typical slow in these stuff...

So really need to consider if you really want to keep that rm20 or just let it burned...

BNM guidelines???
Not sure about it...
What I know... No transactions for 1 year, consider as inactive accounts 😔

You could leave only RM10 in Rize account, not RM20.

what is the negative impact if you just choose to leave RM 10 in rize for forever instead of closing it?

You lose RM10?

Also not sure if it makes a difference next time you try to reopen account (with Rize or with parent bank)....

Do you have their debit card? They might deduct your balance for the debit card annual fee.

// 13. DORMANT ACCOUNTS AND UNCLAIMED MONIES

13.1 Dormant account. If your account has no transaction (excluding those initiated by the Bank)
for a continuous period of 1 year or such shorter period as determined by the Bank, the Bank
may classify your account as a dormant account.

13.2 Activation of dormant account. No transaction (excluding those initiated by the Bank) will be
allowed in a dormant account unless and until that account has been reactivated by your
performing a transaction in person at any branch or you completing such other verification as
determined by the Bank.

13.3 Fee on dormant account. We may impose a charge or fee on a dormant account until the
remaining credit balances are sent to the Registrar of Unclaimed Monies pursuant to the
Unclaimed Monies Act 1965. We may also close a dormant account with prior notice to you.

13.4 Unclaimed monies. Any credit balance in an account which is not operated for a period of 7
years will be remitted to the Registrar of Unclaimed Monies pursuant to the Unclaimed Monies
Act 1965, following which the account will be closed. The Customer will be required to apply
directly to the Registrar of Unclaimed Monies for any return of unclaimed monies. //
