In Penang or anywhere Malaysia, for managerial post, etc.
Is it possible to get salary increment 10% yearly at your current company and 30%-70% for jumpship/new company?

So you think anyone can get 10% yearly increment for decades without promotion or moving up corporate ladder?

You should first see if the company able to consistently increase their profit 10% every year.

In Malaysia, if U can get 1-5% increment yearly also consider lucky.

10-30% increment is rare. Usually can only get if jump

Don't know about managerial role. But for usual staff or executive level, forget about the 10% annual increment(Not sure if there is indeed a company that really raised 10% pay for their staffs).

In change company, more than 10% increment that's for sure. Unless you don't know how to negotiate.

Not possibles

Increment and promotion is 2 diff thing

U get increment 10 percent - so far I never heard any company in this current climate give this. Majority is 3 to 5 percent la from what I heard based on 5 to 6 company in tech

As for promotion if u get promoted every year something wrong

So best is to jump jobs every 1 or 2 years

Realistically, no. Annual salary increment is usually around 4-6% and that's if your company is doing quite well (ex: PETRONAS).

If you want to get 10% increment, it's either a counter-offer from your employer to retain you, a promotion or you jump ship. I wouldn't recommend jumping ship for 10% increment though. At least 15% but on average, 20-30%. If you're lucky, you can get 50-60% increment especially if you're joining a high-paying industry. It happened to me once and my salary went from RM3000 to RM4800. Felt like winning the lottery. hahaha

Yearly salary increment is benchmarked against inflation. 6% is pretty high.

Salary adjustment is done when company benchmark against the market level they prefer. It can be a straight one big jump or done in incremental by year.

Jumping will yearn higher because 1) ppl is desperate for worker, 2) your salary is probably under market standard.

One thing you guys need to know, not all "lowballing" is done intentionally. Sometimes, your current pay is already above the new company pay range or market standard. I am not justifying it is right to do so, cause it is more appropriate to just reject the candidate. But sometimes, ppl do stupid things. As usual, Malaysian loves to try everything.

The current standard flow in the market is go in new job > gain experience > feel underpaid > company slow to adjust salary > jump new job.

even big company i see max max 3-5%.

To get >10% is either they reflect market rate, cause u r underpay
or give promotion

I'd rather have the recruiter reject my job application based on my expected salary rather than allowing the hiring manager to invite me to go on an interview and then lowball me. Happened to me once when I went for an interview at ASTRO. They offered me an increment less than RM100 because my "salary bracket" is almost maxed out for the position.

Some managers have a very weird taste, thinking ppl come to apply because our company is "great".

There is. A glc. Not mnc. Production/factory company. Wont reveal further.

But of course once you are near that managerial role, the salary becomes higher and increment getting lower.

Red flag, for sure! Companies should post the salary range of a position when they advertise it. That'll make it easier for both parties.

so far 3-4 chinaman company increment only 2-5%

my last employment at MNC company 0% increment bcoz contract based

each time change job, highest is 55%, but only once, normal times is only 5-10% increase only, employers like to puch salary down, just bcoz my salary is not that high, they cant give me high salary, what logic is that i also dunno, got one even better said i cnat give u ur expected salary bcoz the max jump we can give is 250 only....haha
