Mind to specify what package are you guys on - especially those with Speedtest.net result of more than 1000 kbps. This is interesting to me as I am not able to get those speed at any time. I am on a 384kbps. Are you guys on the advance package, how did you manage that speed?

On your package, u be lucky to enjoy 300Kbps constant. Occasionally, u will get >500Kbps and that's bonus. thumbup.gif I'm on the usb 3.6Mbps! and i have not seen it either, but i've been having constant 500Kbps to 900Kbps lately which i'm thankful for.

OIC. Well, it is fine by me as I do not do big time download. As long as surfing is decent and no disconnection, I will be more than happy.

Don't think I will go for a 3.6 package. The most I will go for is the Advanced Package (640 kpbs).

Anyway, my area is Cheras Taman Connaught. If there is anyone on Advanced Package, please share how good is the signal.

On another note, if you guys are on higher than 5th floor, how do you guys get support from Maxis? To my experience, the moment you mention you are on (say) 10th floor, their standard reply is "We do not support any Wireless BB higher than 5th floor". Of course you can always lie to them that you are not on 10th floor. In a case where you need the Internet urgently and getting frustrated (say on 10th floor), how do you get them to look into your problem? This is frustrating when in the past it has been working like a charm for you (on 10th floor).

Hi,

Having connection problem with my starter packs for almost a week now. Called the customer support several times and every time they ask me to turn on and off the modem or wait for them to relocate for me.

What is the meaning of relocated? But still can't solve the connection problem. It always shown limited service or the max i can get is gprs or edge which are rare.

Then the last time i called they said might be something going wrong at the coverage of my area or maybe on the more technical side. They asked me to wait 3 to 7 working days for their technical team to find out.

Sigh~~ I'm really getting frustrated. How much i need to pay if i wanna terminate the account? The remaining months from 1 & 1/2 contract x monthly subscription fees? The attitude from the operator of the customer support are not bad, quite polite and patient just they can't solve the problem.

I'm from wangsa maju area any one from this area facing any connection problem?

Im not staying on the 19th floor. Anyway Finally I managed to do Reverse Port Forward. Now I can host DOTA Games , or what-so-ever. It needs a SSH Server which enables remote port forwarding (so you can do a reverse port forwarding)

If anyone wants to 'test it out'. Let me know. I can run VNC , and bam .........get it connected !

I'm the one staying on the 19th floor using USB WBB 3.6Mbps shakehead.gif ... and i can actually spot the base station from my balcony... abt 1km sight distant. i've tested it on the ground floor and also in front of the base station (curious) and concluded that if the signal is bad... then u will not get HSDPA 5-bar. Everything else above this... well is not that significant as i even measure them in -dBm.... little impact....

what does impact is HOW many users are on it, all queue up according to priorities something like 3G phone users then Internet2Go then maybe USB then only ZTE (this is a non-proven priority list). When i was at Hartamas the line was blazing constant above 1.5M but not in Mont Kiara, different base station i guess. But in short.... if poor signal, it will show at the firmware... i'm actually doing 50KBps on ftp d/l now....

How do you guys see how many signal bars do you have? I can't seem to locate a function to show this in the ZTE modem. Is there an additional software?

Ya, if you are connected to a different cell / base station, the performance is very different. Over at me area, I noticed there are 3 cells where there is no HSDPA in 1 cell. It is very slow if I am connected to that cell.

To do SSH Reverse port forwarding , you must have a Shell account. If there is no shell account there is no way

i gave up torrent using maxis wbb. too much hassle. and wasting time downloading 1 whole day just for some mere 20~50mb+ if the torrent has matured, need to beg for reseed etc etc..

im now into IRC.easier.it's consider direct download.and faster too.
