What's wrong with Kamille being emo? Note his background... He was pretty much neglected by his parents since small, no one taught him how to interact with people, he saw how bad his parents behaved towards each other; hence contributing towards his lack of socialising skills. Fa, despite being his childhood friend, didn't really click that well with him. The revelation of Quattro being Char didn't really help him either, since he found out that his supposed mentor was from the faction that started the war before. As the war went on, his comrades whom he cared for dropped dead one by one, forcing him to grow up and mature; yet I feel that deep down inside he's just suppressing his angst for the bigger picture. Don't forget how pissed he was when Katz acted like a brat and wanted to go after Sarah, hence endangering himself and possibly the Argama crew.

Only Four was on the same wavelength as him since they both suffered from the same dilemma - someone who was pretty much exiled from their surroundings, and had angst and apprehension about their own existence. Therefore it's easy to comprehend why both of them clicked instantly. A bit repetitive like Lalah and Amuro, and both were ended up as tragedies.

He did. Smacked his own face into an asteroid and kaboom.

We have to thank Gundam 00 for making our thread alive again.

F91 and V had no connection with the early UC series, despite being set in the UC Calendar. The only relation they had was to reminisce about the White Devil and hence calling their suits, Gundam. Oh well, at least in F91 the museum did showcase an ancient Zaku.

Char rocks because of his mysterious and complex character, not because he had godly piloting skills. In fact, Char was never THE BEST pilot around (despite his background as the Red Comet) and got owned many times such as by Asshimar, The-O, Quebeley, and of course vs Nu which he was destined to lose.

GP02? Despite having the devastating nuke, it's pretty much a useless unit. Then again, it's role is to shoot from afar and pwn everything in its path, not an assault / intercept unit.

Fingers crossed for 00, anything could happen.

As for Unicorn OVA, we can only hope. At least we got a detailed novel instead of meaningless advertisement gimmick like the Stargazer OVAs (the first episode was good though, 2 and 3 were pretty much crap).

Meanwhile, does EVERY gundam has to pose like Max Payne?

Well this is what the thread is for - discussions about Gundam

Imagine Full Frontal shouting "CHAR HAS RETURNED, PUNY EARTH !!" and blasting everything into smithereens in his Sinanju.

Nu had more powerful funnels, the cheating I-field (although he didn't use it vs Sazabi), and his beam sabres' output overwhelmed the Sazabi's.

Again, Char is destined to lose to Amuro. He already gave up his life to stage the final battle. I believe even if he succeeded in crashing Axis down to earth, he would have committed suicide too, possibly by ramming into Ra Cailum or something as he realised that his actions were evil despite having good intentions. Throughout the movie, one can realise that Char did not care about his own life or the glory of the weak Neo Zeon anymore - he only wanted to force mankind to evolve and of course, duel with Amuro.

More on 00. Does this reminds anyone of Astray R, B and X?

Now here's some good debate.

First of all, the funnel I-field provides 360 degree protection. Although Amuro only used it to block the Alpha Azeiru's attack from the front, the animation clearly shows that it encloses the Nu in within.

Sazabi: 6 x funnel (mounts beam gun, power rated at 10.6 MW)
Nu : 6 x fin funnel, stored on backpack storage rack

Same amount of funnels although we don't know the output of the Nu's. I put my cash on it being on par or even superior to the Sazabi's; as Gyunei was surprised how powerful the beam shots from the Fin Funnels were when they clashed.

As for the beam sabres, despite having 3 beam blades Char can only wield two at once. And with two underpowered sabres, it's understandable that he'd lose when they clash blades.

The mega particle cannon at the waist was indeed powerful with 8.8MW output energy, yet it's a scattering shot not a concentrated fire. Same case with the Sazabi's shotgun. Scattered shots only work well in close quarters, and since Amuro kept his distance, Char couldn't get a clear shot.

It's clear that Char was not an assault pilot in the battlefield, he's only there to supervise things. He's not even the platoon commander. And why aggressively attack the EF forces when he could just sit back and snipe the incoming grunts or some nukes? His main aim is to drop Axis, not to accumulate kills.

Nu didn't use the I-field shields because the funnels were destroyed. The sole funnels of both Nu and Sazabi were destroyed when they fought near Axis.

I agree that Char was using the evolution of mankind as a beautiful excuse to drop Axis when his intention was to duel with Amuro; yet he does have a dream of seeing mankind developing into newtypes. Not forgetting that he's a spacenoid, hence bearing some hatred towards Earth would not be unexpected.

Finally, Kira vs Rau was good in terms of action, yet Rau totally owned Kira in the verbal sparring. At least Char and Amuro b*tched towards each other with all sorts of reasons from their own perspectives, unlike Kira's crappy responses.

I don't see where I'm wrong. It's just a matter of perspective and clearly ours do differ in some ways.

I don't see Char as a good person; yet he's not totally evil like Scirocco, Bask, or even Rau. He's just fulfilling his dad's dream of newtypes while at the same time fulfilling the selfish agenda of fighting Amuro. Good intentions, bad effects. A bit like Miliardo's idea of stopping war with an apocalypse.

Characters with shades of grey are much more interesting than one-dimensional people such as the pink pop princess.

Haman... hehe.. seriously we don't know much about why did she become so evil. Maybe a complete story of CDA would shed some light.

Sinanju = Full Frontal's Sazabi-wannabe badass mecha.
Geara Zulu = Neo Zeon grunts in Unicorn.

How do you define fair? The only fairness is if they used the same machines with identical stats and equipment. Amuro did not have to coordinate, that was Bright's job. Amuro basically just went away on his own and took on Quess and Gyunei (apart from downing grunts for fun). Then again, as mentioned above, Char's job was not to fight, but to ensure that his goons dropped Axis onto Earth.

Then again, Char did try to have a fair fight by leaking the psychoframe info to AE for them to build Nu. He could have overwhelmed Amuro in the inferior ReGz (Amuro was still a monster in it though) but he didn't want to fight back then. He was more focused in coordinating his scheme of dropping 5th Luna early in the movie. With this point, I hereby conclude that Char DID want to drop Axis as to force mankind to migrate to space apart from dueling with Amuro.

If he only wanted a duel, he could have just hopped on a Doga and fought Amuro in his ReGz in the first 5 minutes of the movie.

Beavis and Butthead as Amuro and Char ?

Well we've finished the CCA discussion... and I don't even want to start on the GSD one. Let's just say that the characters were all nerfed by the bad writing (and also the absolute requisite of glorifying Lacus and Friends. The selection of packs were pretty much based on marketing requirements too. Blast Impulse was only used once in the early episodes, and once they realised that it was neglected, Shinn was "forced" to use it vs Abyss. Now tell me which pilot in their sane mind would use a long range firepower support unit to go head on into assault?

Fukuda = WINZ becoz he screwed GSD so badly that even after so long, people still hate him for messing up Gundam

G00 is similar to GW, yet the Celestial Being's role of stopping all wars are more similar to the Preventers of Endless Waltz and Lacus and Friends Sdn. Bhd. The original Operation Meteor was carried out seperately and none of the 5 gundam pilots knew about each others' existence, that's why when Heero and Duo first met they did not trust and work together. It was only until Duo found out that they were on the same side that he tried to reach out to Heero (with limited success initially).

OZ pwned GW by using politics. They offered olive branches to the colonies and turned them against the gundams, which were supposed to represent spacenoids in rebelling against the earth based forces esp the OZ. That was the best part of GW, where politics played a bigger role than bigass guns.

At the way things are going, 00's story might be similar but that might not be a bad thing at all (depending on how the story is told). Don't forget most UC series had a similar backbone story and yet most of them were well received due to great character development and interesting background story.

And I wonder why you even bother posting here. If you don't like it, at least state the reason.

Jamil had his own love interest who was the newtypish ghostly figure they rescued in one of the earlier episodes. Unless Jamil decides to become another Char, he won't be interested in Tifa. Besides, Tifa is Garrod's love interest right from the start and there were no indiciations of changing that fact. If anything, it was the brown-haired female officer aboard Freeden that was attracted to Jamil. Forgot her name... Sarah?

Then again, it's been some time since I've watched GX and I did not really understand the final story arc when the Federation came into play... oh well.

Well, don't forget about the emo-ish Katz. He didn't get a gundam, he didn't pwn anyone. His job was just to carry missiles and bigass rifle for Emma, then disappear into the background, whining about Sarah... and suffered a crappy death.

Well according to Hathaway's Flash, he got executed by his dad after his rebellion got thrashed by the EA... not sure whether that is canon or not. The Penelope and Xi Gundams in the novel looks really chunky as if diff cardboards are slapped onto it randomly. Think Blue Frame 2ndG.

Why can't every unit be like the MKII? clean and simple, just carry the guns you need, not shove everything into the backpack.

Exactly my thoughts when the Exia was first revealed to have 7 blades. Come on, there's only two hands to carry two blades, so just carry two will do. No point sticking them in the backpack if you're not using them.

If they want more beams, they should have made it like the Aegis or IJ where the additional two blades stick out from the legs.

What next? Dynames with 9 rifles? Virtue with 5 bazookas? Or maybe the Kyrios will get a DRILL

Suddenly, I feel that the Exia's head is similar to the one in Ecole du Ciel... shockingly similar. Not that it causes any problems though
