With Tomino out of the picture, Bandai has no more confidences in UC gundam anymore.

So almost every UC gundam created is now pretty much an underground market.

Well, UC is still pretty much alive, at least in terms of gunpla.

I think the reason why Sunrise doesn't want to create UC anime is because the market is simply not there anymore. The only new UC storyline is Unicorn and their plan for that is in novel form to attract the old UC fans which are probably in their late 20s and early 30s. Anime is more geared towards teens nowadays, hence all the bling bling in GSD and 00.

I'd love to see a Unicorn anime, but if animes nowadays must follow the bling trend, I'd rather Unicorn remain in novel form.

I believe UC has still market. Its just Bandai doesn't want to risk it. Since Bandai plot Gundam though sales charts and not by story.

young teens can also love UC if they are shown the light. The problem is Bandai thinks its easier to simply just show bling bling mecha, 00 girls and bishie(for fangirls) than to create a proper story. They soon realize that this will be their very downfall..

Akiba Space 6.0 Harutoshi Fukui talk show & signing event

DengekiOnline.com and Akiba Hobby covered Harutoshi Fukui's appearance at Akiba Space 6.0 to commemorate the grand opening of SuperModelers the day before. Over 100 fans showed up to hear the Gundam UC author speak alongside Dengeki Hobby's editor-in-chief and a representative from the Bandai Hobby Division. A variety of upcoming Gunpla were also on display at the event.

When asked for hints about upcoming developments in the story, Fukui said, "Since you know its Gundam, it'd be a mistake not to drop in on Earth". He also remarked that an aquatic mobile suit will be needed in the Summer and that he wanted a new GM-equivalent mobile suit to appear as well as a walking mobile armor. Upon hearing that, the other two guests jumped in on the idea, rapidly conversing back & forth with Fukui until they finally somehow ended up talking about a giant, 4-legged GM.

Later, Fukui threw an age-old question out to the gathered audience concerning Amuro Ray who, of course, is never described in detail following the events of Char's rebellion: "Do you think Amuro is alive? Do you think he's dead?" Many in the audience raised their hands for the former question while some others felt he was dead. Fukui said of this, "Very interesting response."

Near the end of the talk, it was asked if there were going to be any more Gundam UC kits. The Bandai Hobby Division rep answered, "I can't say which but I think I want merchandise of the machine designated as the Gundam Unicorn's rival." When asked for a show of hands regarding whether they wanted the Sinanju or the Kshatriya as a Master Grade, the Kshatriya won out.

Reading between the lines, here goes:

1. There's an aquatic unit, most likely to be Neo Zeon's. Probably something along the lines of a Z'Gok.

2. New GM equivalent... is that the Stark Jegan?

3. Giant 4 legged GM.... Oh oh, guys, remember Gells-Ghe in Lohengrin gate episode of GSD?

4. The mentioning of Amuro Ray... I still believe he's dead and prefer him to stay DEAD. If he is revived in Unicorn, then Full Frontal is surely going to be Char. Please... let the old dudes die. No Kira-style hogging the limelight please, give Barnage the chance to shine.

5. Finally, an antagonist MG to accompany the Unicorn... I say Sinanju.
