1. Yea.. the disadvantage of any stock android for now.

2. Can remove, use custom launcher.

3. Yea.. stock camera app. Maybe 3rd party app should be able if you need it.

4. Can charge using ordinary charger, but slow. Fast charger also slow. Must use PD specified.

Hi guys,

Just got back from a work trip in Manila via Singapore and it's been a frustrating experience with my P7 Pro. Left Johor Bahru on
the 3-MAR morning and flew out from Singapore to Manila. I activated my 7 day ASEAN roaming pass on Maxis and and it won't
connect to Singtel's LTE network. The phone defaults back to their 3G/EDGE network but data remains offline despite repeatedly
trying to manually connect to their LTE network.

Arrived into Manila and the phone connects to Globe Telecoms but it's the same story again. It remains locked into Globe's 2G
network and it constantly loses the network and reconnects every now and then. Manual connection to Globe's LTE and even a
few attempts to connect on SMART's LTE network failed. Fortunately the Pixel carries my personal SIM and my DIGI work SIM
is on my OnePlus 7 which worked flawlessly in both countries.

Called up Maxis tech support and the only thing they could say was - Ooh's it's Pixel 7? Really problematic phone with loads of
issues. I politely reminded them that if the P7 series phone can work on these networks for their local customers, Maxis needs
to do better than just tell me it's a problematic phone. They have filed a case but it's been almost a week and nothing yet from
them. I am back in Malaysia now but with another trip planned to Manila and Bangkok in April, I need to get this issue resolved.
Has anyone faced similar issues as I am reading a few users facing this issue on REDDIT and other forums.

You're not the only one. I'm on maxis as well. Went to Perth for a 10 day trip. Could not get the roaming to activate for almost an hour, it kept connecting to the 2g network.

In the end i decided to just purchase a traveller sim

If travel a lot, best is bring one mobile router, then get a local travel sim for backup.
then get a prepaid digi/hotlink sim to avoid bill shock.

Make sure you're using the APN with unet instead of max4g. I had this issue also when I was in China last week, it kept connecting to the 2G network only until I changed the APN to unet and then it connected to 4G straightaway.

Sorry, it's been awhile since i last logged in.

I was wondering if anyone is willing to consider selling their Pixel 7 pro (preferably looking for a white/black 128GB US set under 6 months old) to trade for my 7 month used Pixel 7 128GB black US set. I'll top up the extra.

Do PM me. Thanks!

Sidenote: Stickied evilhomura89's consolidated post on VOWIFI and VOLTE compatibility for local networks on 1st page.

Hi guys. I'm using Pixel 6a (JP set) I tried to enable VoWiFi using the steps here: https://github.com/kyujin-cho/pixel-volte-p...in/README.en.md
However, it says "IMS unregistered" in Pixel IMS app and also the Android Services Menu. I cannot use VoWiFi by using aeroplane mode + WiFi to call. Any idea what went wrong? hmmm

Ah I have found the solution from here: https://github.com/kyujin-cho/pixel-volte-p...ment-1478345652
Basically need to set a new APN called IMS. sweat.gif It works now!

Just wondering if any of you are facing this issue. I'm on Maxis postpaid and after the April/May update, I realised that the LTE has been dropping intermittently, totally no data and will come back up a few seconds/minute later. At times, it will drop and come back a few times in a row within half an hour. I kinda feel that this is Maxis related because my 2nd SIM which is on Unifi doesn't have this issue. My Maxis is on eSIM btw. I'm lazy to talk to Maxis because they will always give me crap answers.

Links are broken on the first page, you copied the concatenated URLs smile.gif

Anyway I'm on OneXOX - MVNO using Celcom network - and I got VoWIFI working after adding the IMS APN.

For VoLTE had to call OneXOX up and ask them to provision VoLTE for my user account before it worked.

Anyone interested to get the Pixel Fold? I'm one and I hope it won't have issues with roaming when overseas...

Another major concern is data roaming might have issues? I usually use an overseas sim card for data though.. hmm.gif

I am curious how come no one is talking about the fold. From what i see, it's a superb design! It's a nice passport book size, better than the tall and narrow samsung fold 3. And it looks slim. really slim actually!

Yeah I really like the aspect ratio of the inner screen when open as it is in "landscape" mode. I hope games can run on this "landscape" orientation vs the weird tall-ish aspect ratio of the Z Fold 4.

Other nice stuff about the Fold IMHO:
+ Stock android, less bloatware
+ More practical aspect ratio of outer and inner screen compared to the Z Fold 4
+ Pixel camera colour science if you are a fan
+ Fully flat and hinge design makes it a table tripod

Things I don't really like:
+ No official Google presence here which means only import set/warranty
+ Slow 30W charging
+ Battery life will not be great
+ Cameras won't be as good as the Pixel 7 Pro
+ Price tag of $1,799
