Bro, kindly update when it's avaiable again. I almost want to terminate my Digi as interested to join Umobile due to 5g access for Pixel 7

That's the downside of using Google Pixel. There are plenty phone brand such as Nokia, Motorola, Realme, Nothing,OnePlus, Oppo, Samsung, Xiaomi, Poco, Redmi, Vivo, Honors, Huawei, ZTE, etc all supporting 5G but not Google Pixel phone. Google really need to fix this global compatibility issue. Otherwise, no point of upgrading Pixel 8 or newer as it is just waste of money.

So the cellular performance improved?

Wait for a detailed teardown and real user reviews (not media/influencer reviews) to know.

Google has to fix their code. Because they locked down the code not enabling 5G, VoWi-Fi, voLTE by default unless we root it. When they bring it in to Malaysia officially means they enable the features by region. Lock down the phone feature based on supported region is imbecile move. Why some other phone brands not even officially released in Malaysia, they can support 5G, VoWi-Fi and VoLTE? Because they granted the feature to be available regardless which region we are.

The must be a reason that we dont know. Trying hard to be exclusive? Prevent complications? Other regions are not important for them? Etc etc? I dont know

What i know is if some feature is important for me and pixel cant fulfill it then i will look elsewhere. For now, i still can accept 4g. It could be different story for me next year

So lets just hope they will consider to enable 5g in msia just like how they did with volte and 5g in umobile

Can I ask fellow PIxel 7 users who updated to Android 14. What is your current.'Google Play System' update version?

Mine is still at July 2023.

user posted image

I could remember clearly it was already September 2023 version before I updated from Android 13 to Android 14.

There is an update of 79MB but it 'Failed to Update':

If Google wants to be so sticky with enabling these features, then we should be sticky in supporting them. No point purchasing a phone for the camera but unable to tap it's basic features of 5G and vowifi.

I think my p7 finally get volte support without rooting after android 14 update, not only there's HD icon in my call screen, my LTE is maintained while making calls. Which didn't happen previously. On hotlink postpaid network.

Yes. I experienced it since yesterday after Android 14 upgrade on my Pixel 7 Pro. My friend's Pixel 7 experienced the similar issue. The Android 14 upgrade actually did replace the baseband version (firmware version) for the Samsung Exynos 5300 modem currently used in Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 with latest firmware. So now when making call and data with dual sim enabled concurrently, the network connectivity is much stable. Battery draining issue is also not that worst compared with Android 13. The trade off will be losing the 5G connection. I do not see it weird since firmware and operating system are different now. Furthermore, Google Pixel is parallel import phone as it is not an official released in Malaysia.
