There is a hidden risk for those wanting to take the TurboSim route. If your telco finds out that you are cloning Sim cards , you may be blacklisted off the network. Other than that, me myself am interested to try it out....just to see if 1.1.1 works on this .

At the risk of losing my Celcom number, and at the prospect of 1.1.1? I'll....errr, let others give it a go first.

QUOTE(wei @ Oct 16 2007, 10:54 AM) Demm, I've start looking for zero-one-six VIP numbers without noticing... eh.. ehh... Hahah, you have a higher retainance level (read: patience) level than i do. The minute i knew DiGi was the only EDGE player around, the choice was painfully obvious. Looks like my patient is burning low... I can answer for Celcom and DiGi APNs. Celcom's is "wap.celcom.net.my" for postpaid, or "celcom" for prepaid. Leave other fields blank. DiGi is ""diginet", for both prepaid and postpaid. Leave other fields blank. |

QUOTE(wei @ Oct 16 2007, 02:35 PM) Other telco also have EDGE, but that's secondary for their 3G plans. I think Maxis and Celcom only have GPRS besides their 3G licenses, they skipped EDGE entirely. So my statement about DiGi being only EDGE player around is true. GPRS is not EDGE by the way, although you can use the setting to access the much slower GPRS network.I think I will keep my voice to Maxis, data on my iPhone. |

That is if you can get in via Starbuck's Timezone network, wei. I tried using WinSCP and FTPing into the iPod Touch, but it kept on reconnecting. I suspect that Timezone cycles through the available IPs distributable among its users every so often, you cannot maintain a constant connection.
And yeah, mine's no longer "dottie" or "alpine" anymore. |

![]() For that retro payphone look! ![]() ![]() For that Vintage look! Picture taken from stock photos at ModMyiPhone, but you get what i mean. Im outside , so i cant really FTP out screenshots out of my iPhone. Added on October 16, 2007, 4:53 pm QUOTE(keeekeee @ Oct 16 2007, 04:49 PM) i have taken alot photos with my iphone. i wondering how do i sycn all from phone to my PC? any ideas guys? The very moment you plug your iPhone in, your computer should prompt you that an Apple iPhone camera is plugged in via USB and you have the option of managing your photos via any available photo management software like Picasa and such. This post has been edited by stringfellow: Oct 16 2007, 04:53 PM |

For all iPhone modding and skinning needs, head to www.modmyiphone.com. That's where i get these cool themes and skins from. They even have an iPhone online skinner application there, so you can try all the designs, mix and match before FTPing them to your iPhone.

Fully unlocked or "unlocked to French telcos" only? If it's the former, watch the uproar from the other side of the Atlantic ocean.

Apple did reply regarding the news. They had released a press statement regarding the Greanpeace's findings that they will go pollutant free by the end of 2008 on their products. The thing is, those tree-hugging hippies at Greenpeace cannot see this through and as impatient as a person holding his piss in.
QUOTE Apple has answered the Greenpeace Foundation's claims about the iPhone's hazardous substances. An Apple spokesperson told Macworld that, "like all Apple products worldwide, iPhone complies with RoHS [Restriction of Hazardous Substances], the world's toughest restrictions on toxic substances in electronics. As we have said, Apple will voluntarily eliminate the use of PVCs and BFRs by the end of 2008." In other words, "Greenpeace, STFU until the end of 2008." Meanwhile, the Center for Environmental Health in California has joined the media whoring fest and given Apple a 60-day legal notice, since they want to "encourage the manufacturers through a negotiated settlement to reduce the use of these chemicals." Obviously, they missed Jobs' memo about the "voluntary elimination" of said materials. [Macworld] |

Words may say much, but one picture says it all!
![]() EURO999!? Enjoy your RM5000 unlocked iPhone! Muahahaha! QUOTE SIM Unlocked iPhone Available in Shops in France! - Lionel - 14:00:09 - Comments I knew that unlocked phones are more expensive, but damn! A reader from the French PC website PC INpact could take a photo of a SIM unlocked iPhone on sale in one the leading French supermarket corporation (E.Leclerc). The price for this SIM unlocked iPhone is set to 999euro! Knowing that via the grey market, one can purchase an iPhone from US Apple Store for around 300euro, making the margin for this French supermarket quite substantial... It is about time that Apple and Orange release their final agreement and subscription offer, as customers could be fouled by those offers from the grey market, especially considering that those iPhone units will most likely not be covered by warranty Ooooh ooooh, let's wait for the "Asian, release in 2008" iPhones, and play "The Price is Right" game on this one. Locked/Unlocked? Locked to which telco, or Unlocked at what price? This post has been edited by stringfellow: Oct 19 2007, 01:37 AM |

Fun to guess, but im not pining hopes on it even being closer to USD399, or EUR399 for that matter.
Im not denying that the picture is of the current stock unlocked iPhone, but those pining on the hope that the phone would somehow be pricematched to the current iPhone price is tiptoeing on thin ice. A few delicious possibilities :- 1 - Acceptable price top-up on top of the price of the locked French iPhone, for the Apple-unlocked iPhone but locked to French language, or locked to French carriers only! OR 2 - That screenshot price coming true! I'll be the first one lining up in FNAC or Apple's own Store in Champ Elysees, if Apple pricematches the Apple-unlocked with the locked ones. |
