quite many years ago. For me it was not an issue at all and in fact the area where i spend most of my time receive very strong signal.
in my office right now, maxis is quite bad, that i ported from UM to maxis for a few days, then immediately ported back to UM and never look back.
won't mind paying the bill if it fits, since i could claim company for my monthly bills.

for 5G, all will be the same on DNB's network, so should be the same i guess.
*
Yes. For 5G all telcos would be on DNB's network. So same coverage for all. If there is no coverage in one area, then everybody would not have 5G. laugh.gif

Still cheaper if selling by Apple. I think leather case always around this price.

Yup... If genuine leather. Anyway the case looks damn nice. Just that I personally would not be paying so much for a case nowadays.

Seems like overheating issue is caused by charging the phone using using android USB type c chargers. Any of our Singapore friends have this issue with theirs currently?

Or is it another tactic by Apple to make you buy their chargers?

Isn’t the point of moving to Type C to harmonise all these cables and chargers in the first place? Hahaha… Apple still finds a way to screw us over…
Same, hahaha.. the curse of Apple products… when they launch the Apple Watch, I went no way, I’m happy with my G-Shock, but I’ve been wearing my Apple Watch 5 for close to 3 years now and my G-Shock watches are in the drawer with dead batteries… when they launch the Apple Pencil, I said no way in hell I will buy a RM400 stylus, then I bought the Apple Pencil 2 at over 500….

Wow bro, then you should stay with this legacy plan and just buy the phone outright no?
*
If not how to make sheeps buy their overpriced adapters? tongue.gif

Anyway, even with so many issues plaguing the phone, suddenly I have lost interest for the phone. Now having doubts if I should transfer over my 14PM to the new 15PM. doh.gif

Very cheap only, the adapter just cost rm1 when bought together with phone, promo from certain resellers.
*
That is for early pre-orders only. I dont think it is still available now.

QUOTE(attw @ Sep 27 2023, 12:48 PM)
I suppose that's one of the risk you take with being an early adopter or having the phone launched in our market early before getting the reviews in. As someone mentioned a few posts earlier, we've dealt with an exploding phone before (Note 7, anyone?), so what's a little overheating? Hahaha...
Ooohhhh, I did not know this. Thanks for the info!
*
Nolar bro.. I really dont want the drama and the headache later on. I am already too lazy to restore the phone because its a long, tedious process. Have to restore all settings and make sure all the accounts are re-logged back in. Have to inform the banks that we are changing phones etc etc. So I dont want to have the headache of switching to a new phone and having problems later on.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 27 2023, 02:31 PM)
As long not late than 29 Sept, I am fine. 😊
*
Haha....If it arrives today and you show your phone on this thread, Apple will penalize Maxis for releasing your phone before official release date for sure. That is why we have midnight delivery previously to create more hype.

If cc is charged means the unit is allocated to you already. So expect your phone in less than a week from CC charged.

If Huawei phone doesn't comes with those rubbish apps especially their apps store, it can be a good phone.
Using it as reference to buy phone, only Huawei is no no for me.
*
Actually it does not have rubbish apps. Its the complete opposite of Xiaomi. Only thing that is lacks is GMS because the Americans put sanctions on them. I believe that should it have GMS, Apple and Samsung would have got a run for their money.

Only if item value + shipping is more than Rm500.

Those who opted for maxis pickup, did they force you take a sub line but it’s free for 2 months and you can cancel it after?
*
Usually the dealers do these kind of things. Not maxis themselves. Tell them to fly kite.

Spoke to Apple directly via phone, after 2 hours on the line being transferred around, finally the senior supervisor/ manager took over the case and told me he saw those pics and he would personally return it if its his unit, scratches are obvious and absurd, he reassured me they will contact maxis to issue a replacement. He said Maxis is not their accredited resellers like Machines/ Switch etc, they are third party so it will take a while. He will go directly to maxis's dispute team, which handle cases like these, and get them to send instruction to the stores directly to issue replacement. I'm expecting 2-3 weeks for these...
*
Wow... if Maxis were to do a RMA on the phone, it would take at least 2 to 3 weeks to get a replacement unit. Usually replacement units are called seed units and it might be used. Not a bearer of bad news, but u might want to consider not replacing if they were to provide a seed unit.

If you want to use the phone immediately then by all means. If you have a lot of stuff on itunes, its going to take 1 to 2 hours too.

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 29 2023, 03:35 PM)
I asked, they say it will be totally brand new unit just like the one I just unboxed..she further said that the phone is still very new for any replacement or refurbished to be available.

She also mention the replacement will come from next batch which is oct 10/12
*
Ah.. Then should be worth the wait. So now you have been relegated from being an early adopter to late comer. tongue.gif

please don't put those so-call lens protector on your new iphone

i learn my experience in a hard way

i use to apply it on 13pm the ringke brand something for the lens after it crack then you will have nightmare in removing it, the residue sticking to your lens is just ewwwww

your iphone lens is not tat fragile anyway won't need extra protector and also it will affect your camera vision which reduce quality for your video/picture taking
*
But imagine if you did not have the the lense protector, your drop or knock would have cracked the lense. sweat.gif

Sapphire is actually more brittle than glass. Go google it. It only depends on the angle or the pressure applied. So there is a chance that it will crack too.

QUOTE(RyuKageX @ Sep 30 2023, 06:24 PM)
So I went and trade in my 12pm 256 for 15pm. And the 12pm condition after 3 years are:

1. No lens protector since 1st day in 2020: camera lens no scratches at all

2. Using cheapo silicon casing since 2021: Very small dents (<1mm) at the stainless steel frames corner, was put as heavy scratches by the staffs

3. Screen intact: cheapo privacy screen TG, changed once in 2023

4. Everything else same as when 1st bought

Was quoted 1650 + 200. So my conclusions are good protector to cover the frames, camera lens are not needed and TG can find good ones.

Btw got bad experience just now, i was one of the early person in the que. Then one of the staff approached me asking me if i want to trade in. So when i said yes, they asked me to follow them out of the que. Turns out that was a big mistake since the trade in staff is not the same as the preorder. So i lost my position in the que and missed all the free gifts
*
RM1650 trade in price is not bad though for a 3 year old 12pm. nod.gif

You have next to no chance. I think if you try Blue Titanium maybe possible.

some updates on my case- Apple called this morning to update, apparently its a common issue, he said from the report it shows Maxis has 20+ similar cases and reports, celcom digi all also got, but umobile has highest number of reports amongst all the Telcos..

my unit will be replaced on next batch which is Oct 13... so take note whoever ordered from Telcos, the next batch will be Oct 13.... after that will be Oct 18 yes only 5 days gap for next batch)... this info comes from Apple, so should be reliable i guess?
*
20+ picky buyers. tongue.gif Guess there are more. Just that many just didnt give a damn as long as can get their phones first. laugh.gif

This time, Apple QC really went down the drain. Scuffgate la, OHeat Gate la... Cant blame Bharat made either because phone is still made in China.

Not sure about being picky, but when open box and see scratches all over the phone..I doubt anyone would accept it, unless desperate buyers maybe..it’s definitely Apple QC and partly the titanium material issue made it prone to scratches while packing I guess..
Not just telco, even Apple I’m sure…but because my case is from telco so he looked into telco reports…he also emphasized that the buyers remorse law is applicable even in Malaysia, where customers are entitled to reject products during unboxing on the spot in their shop..if bawa balik rumah then cannot….but again I’ve also opted for maxis safe device..so 2 ways there…

he also confirmed that cases like these are entitled for brand new unsealed box units, no flat white box or seed unit (they call it refurbished units). Personally I’m not too ocd with these and would take it if it’s not too much, but the scratches in person is really bad, when compared to other units…rather wait 2-3 weeks than living with it for the next 12 months…
*
Haha... just trolling you bro. Nah.... even if I was me I would have outright rejected it. Luckily mine came in fine. laugh.gif Or I didnt inspect properly enough..... blink.gif

Nah... It wouldn't be only Telco sets. All the sets comes from the same production line, wont make any difference. But anyway anodized surfaces are proned to discoloration and scratches if come upon any chemicals by chance etc. So its still best to cover it up with a backcover like we always do.
