Oh no la, I meant the previous 3G/4G coverage… Have no idea what the 5G coverage is like - haven’t upgraded my plan
*
Bro... there are no 3G services in our country anymore. Now only 2G, 4G and 5G on our local telcos. You must update yourself.
Using an Iphone with 2g/4G is like driving a Ferarri down the freeway but speed limited to 70km/h only. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Can I ask, if magsafe case simply have the magnet at the back, ready for magnetic charging right?

What about it sticking onto a magnetic phone holder in the car? does it work?
Just a magnetic phone holder without charger.
*
I wont rely on it if I were you. Even a small magsafe wallet could be easily dislodged from the back of the phone, what more a phone holder in a car where you will experience bumps and nooks.

sounds like a good plan for those who're not planning to upgrade and contract 128 ending... 128 to 45/month seems like a big win, plus you get 5G biggrin.gif

I'm sure theres a catch though? I mean if hotlink postpaid 45 is so much better than their normal postpaid plans then who would still go for their normal postpaid? any hidden T&C on the hotlink plan?
*
It's true. If you take the Rm60/month plan you even get free roaming. Same 100GB per month data package and unlimited calls. Almost seems weird when my business plan is Rm188/month with similar data package and unlimited calls. mega_shok.gif And I even have to pay additional Rm29 per month for worldwide roaming. bangwall.gif

But of course the catch is you dont get Iphone packages like most want to here. But then again you are paying extra for the package plan to get subsidy for your phone. So it comes up to the same.

I saw from Switch and Machines website that there is an "Registration of interest"?

What benefits do we get if we register? Do we have earlier access to purchase the phone?
*
Nope. They get your details and email so that they can send you further junk mail in the future.

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 19 2023, 08:58 PM)
If paying rm40-50/ month and get sufficient or probably better (no need add on for roaming/5G), coming from 128/139 that’s a huge saving..almost 1/3… x 24 months wouldn’t that save more than what they subsidize us from getting 24months normal contract?  hmm.gif

rough math, 139-50=89 x24 months = save rm2136…while committing a 24 months contract normally get 1.3-1.4K subsidy and being tied for 24 months..
*
That's correct. And a prepaid user has no contract. One can immediately switch to another telco as they prefer. Telco Iphone packages lock you up in contract for 2 years.

since this is my first time ordering 15PM, can i ask sifu2 where do u normally do all PO?

I hear Machines and telco issues will alwiz hang on the server on PO day.

can i say safely to assume from 2nd tier ie Senheng, TMT, THunder, bla bla?
*
It doesn't matter who you get your from from. As long as is an Iphone 15. So no difference btw first tier or second tier resellers. In the end you still pay the same money for the same phone.

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 20 2023, 11:11 AM)
i guess its quite a minimal upgrade, even rear lenses are the same size..so front and back is exactly the same.. only difference is the material/side which is not seen with a casing on. and the action button..
*
rolleyes.gif
It has always been minor updates here and there for every iteration. Best is to upgrade only after 3 years for each model. But then again....

Good la, more stocks available for the rest of us, hahaha. Kidding… to be honest, we represent a very, very small percentage of the potential iPhone buyers out there. It’ll still be sold out, no matter how many people comment “it’s very minor upgrade”, “no innovation”, bla bla bla…
I think this is true for all mobile phones already bro…
No, not yet. They usually don’t till the very last minute.
*
Ya bro.. u already know me. I dont get excited by any new phones anymore. When the time comes, I will just go collect the phone and be done with it.

Im just here for all the prelaunch drama and lols. rclxm9.gif Just like every other year. laugh.gif

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 20 2023, 12:40 PM)
haha yeap it has been minimal over the last few years, but this year even more minimal.. i mean at least every year the rear camera lenses still bumps up bigger.. last year with a new dynamic island, previous has 120hz and etc..
haha agree, thats the thing, it'll still be sold out no matter what biggrin.gif

which colour are you going for this year bro? I think colour of the year as usual?
*
Ok... The 15Pm sharing the same main camera sensor with the 14PM. Alright Apple, though you cheapskate with this move on saving cost, I can still live with that. But to deprive the 15PM which is the flagship on the 3 times optical zoom compare to the 15P is just preposterous. shakehead.gif

What's wrong with the lightning cable? TBH I prefer the lightning because it makes the phone different from androids.

apple.com/my precisely..and nope official Apple website offers nothing (zero) compare to AASP who offers either free 2nd year extended warranty, or cheap protection plan tie together with purchase etc etc…but have to agree Apple website is the safest coz you won’t miss the delivery, and if defected unit scratches etc they will replace 1:1 without question..
Thanks haha

waiting patiently not to collect iphone, but to end existing contract (paying penalty) ready for tonight’s PO

EDIT: early cancellation fee (by 17 days) = RM33.70
Also kena forced to upgrade to 139 plan as pre-requisite for tonight’s PO lol
*
doh.gif At least yours is only Rm33. My friend paid Rm380 to terminately his contract early so that he could pre-order. But I heard from my cooperate line manager that you can renew your contract 4 months prior to end of contract. Im not sure if it applies to personal lines as well.

Wahh I’ve been told by a few different SA from different walk in centers that we can’t even have 1 day contract remaining to be entitled for PO…now website say can be done as long as within a month? haihz
Wahh 380 I would rather get outright, unless he got other reasons like company entitlement etc..
They normally only release when it’s closer to PO, to avoid people jumping ship or porting to other telcos
*
If Im not on business plans, I would just got for Prepaid 60. 100GB Data, Unlimited Calls and free data roaming in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia. Actually this prepaid is no more considered a prepaid because RM60 is deducted monthly from your credit balance.

maxis early termination seems dont have admin fees, so the more days you finish serving contract, the remaining is just the balance days til contract ends

he lose nothing by paying 380 i would say, if he want the new iphone, otherwise, just wait contract finish, next 2 years same thing
*
Anyway the Fahmi Fadhil has pushed the telcos for a lower pricing which would be unveiled soon. I wouldn't rush into signing any telco contracts for now before reviewing what the price cuts are.

Yeah, I mean in retrospect it’s only RM11.66 (including SST) more than what I am paying for my current plan and like you said, the sub line gets upgraded to 5G too, which is nice but I’d like to have more details before making a decision, hahaha… I suppose in the grand scheme of things I can just pay the penalty, upgrade to the 139 plan and if I’m not happy tonight, just cancel it and revert to whatever is lower and all it’ll cost me is the penalty of RM3x.xx and pro-rated one day’s bill of RM139? Sheesh…
Fahmi Fadhil promises a lot of things… hahaha… but that’s a kopitiam topic… laugh.gif
*
Haha.. anouncement for an annoucement guy. laugh.gif He better get this right this time. Gobind Singh was better at this last time.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Sep 21 2023, 03:05 PM)
But then you still need to top up your Hotlink number after certain of days to avoid the number goes to inactive
*
Nope. Its different with this new prepaid package. The Rm60 is montly auto deduction. Meaning you need to have more than Rm60 in your credits every month. So its like post paid where every month you would need to pay Rm60 for keeping your line active.

But then you still need to make sure your credit had more than RM 60 which at the end also need to top up at least RM 60 per month laugh.gif

Yes. Its actually like contract already. Every month must spend Rm60, just like postpaid. Compared to last time when we reload credits into prepaid, if we dont call or buy any passes the credits remain.

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 21 2023, 03:59 PM)
so it works like regular postpaid, direct debit monthly also..then there isnt really much differences than our 129/139 plans lol

I don't get it though, pay RM60 you get unlimited calls, 5G you get 70 + 30 gb which is more than enough for most people...you said if we don't call our credits remain? isnt calls unlimited? then credits remain can be used on what? lol
*
Nolar... I said if you dont use credit remains is for the old prepaid plans. The above new prepaid plans work like postpaid. Your Rm60 is actually monthly subscription fees. So every year you still pay Rm720 whether you use it or not just like postpaid.

The difference is a lot. You only Pay Rm60 vs Rm139 for postpaid. You save like Rm79 per month which is a lot. It doesn't make sense to use postpaid now right?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 21 2023, 04:01 PM)
The vanilla hotlink pay per use plan still exists if you don't need mobile data

Yes. But nowadays, mobile data is most important. More important than call plans.

Yup... They are trying to catch the usual early adopters who are desperate to get the phone. Later on they had Rm98 packages for the Iphone as well.

As for your dilemma, its actually pretty simple to know. Go to maxis website and try to sign on a new contract for another phone. Key in your details and you will know whether you are allowed to sign on to a new contract with a 1 month existing contract. If you are not allowed to, then you already have your answer.
