Maybe edge 30 ultra cost more to made because of below advantages
Metal+glass build
Proper ultrawide+telephoto
Bloat free ui (miui ads somehow subsidised the price in xiaomi case)
Curved screen
USB3.1 ready for functions (xiaomi always usb2.0 for every phones)
So i afraid edge 30ultra may be cost above 3k++ if to be bring in officiallly

Lenovo Malaysia knows we are price conscious. Also, the latest Moto phones sold here are cheaper compared to when you buy from other parts of the world (ex UK). They could also sell it the same price at the 12T Pro (RM2999 for 12gb RAM/256gb storage variant).

The biggest advantage of Xiaomi is marketing. Lenovo does not want to spend more else, cost will go up as well.

Well the 30 Pro official price is what 2.6k? Its quite a big step up from the Edge 30. I'd say the 30 Ultra would be around.. 3.2k for 12/256..?

Keep in mind:

Motorola Edge 30 Pro was launched in UK for £800 (RM4,200)
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra was recently launched in UK for £750


Motorola Edge 30 Pro was launched in MY for RM2,699

I'm not saying the Edge 30 Ultra will be cheaper but I'm pretty sure Lenovo will keep the price similar to the Chinese variant (X30 Pro).

Guys, are the below correct for Motorola Edge 30 models?

X30 Pro CN = X30 Ultra
X30 CN = X30 Fusion

Errr it got updated during the Sept 2022 software patch.
I don't have any issue whatsoever with the current camera.

Just one gripe is with the portrait lens having no OIS. Under lowlight, it is challenging to get a decent shot using one hand.

To be fair, Motorola camera shutter speed is faster than the latest Galaxy S22 series with no shutter lag at all.

reviewers (of Edge 30 Ultra) mentioning about recording's auto focus being inconsistent throughout the test. it happened on 4k30fps and 1080p as well, iirc.

Yep. This is already fixed.
The issue is not about consistency but the phone having difficulty focusing with subjects closer to the camera. This is a hardware limitation due to larger sensor.

The fix is the the lens will focus on the minimum focusing distance.


This is also the reason that Apple implemented a nifty feature while taking videos using the main camera --- it will automatically switch to using the ultrawide/macro lens when focusing on closer subjects.

The drawback to this is there is a noticeable change in field of view (you will see it in the video itself that suddenly the camera has "moved") while switching from main to ultrawide. Not sure if you get the idea but that's about it.


Take note that CN ROM has faster and more updated software than the global version. This has always been the case for all Moto devices.

No English. You can screenshot and use Google lens icon to translate.

Do all standard apps come in the English language?

Yes. All apps are defaulted to English.

Only Lenovo App Center, Lenovo Browser, Lenovo Cloud App and Lenovo Voice are in Chinese.

Why? Because these are not Global ROM apps and are used for China market only.

how do you install Google Play store?

i understand that google play services can be enabled from system, but not the store?

1. Turn on Google play services from settings
2. Open Lenovo browser
3. Search Google play and install apk

Or

1. Using laptop download apk file
2. Copy apk file to your phone


Guys, it's just an apk file. How you install apk files is how you install Google Play Store or any other apps
