It’s a usd30 100% kit.
Can’t expect so much for so little.
No rgb but with wireless.
Don’t need rgb for office anyway.

I got the haimu switches from pantheonkeys.
Take note for the haimu whisper tactile switch… it’s very scratchy. The heartbeat silent linear switches are smoother but still scratchy when compared to other linears I used.
- Gat yellow pro
- Gat oil kings
- KTT mints

But of coz… it’s still miles ahead of gateron & cherry red/brown…
*
in terms of scratchiness/smoothness, there will be no match if you compared silent switches to normal ones. another thing is mushiness.

these two are physical. you can minimize them, but they will always be there.

this is also why i just compare them relatively.

while it's true that improvements have been applied progressively into new generations of switches, and the gaps between stock and tuned switches have become narrower than before, switch tuning is still an essential part to practice, in order to make stock switches 'better' for personal use.

after weeks of usage (stock haimu midnight blue, stock jwk jade rabbit), this is what i concluded. for instance, jwick/jwk switches are famous for their leaf pings. it's still present in jade rabbit. both need at least spring lubing to peform better.

i will keep these two for reference purposes. the next one will be a build with jwick black v2 + tx 67 cherry (15mm) linear rated spring. it's been on my kbd67lite for some time already.

now i also know why i didn't build anything with this spring: there were previous builds with different spring types (multi-stage), but similar feels like 67g linear spring.

Eih...MG108 same like MG75 no RGB..then i might be confuse about M5 and MG108 then.
Planning using for some time later maybe will switch out budget MMD holy panda, its too wobble....
i think i might aim for RM2+- tactile switch...try get something good that no need keep 'upgrading'
*
For the MMD holy pandas, you mentioned too wobblly, what switch are you comparing it to?
Wobble means keycaps will move in the x and y dierection when we
I compared the MMD holy pandas to the like of U4T, SP star magic girl, Dareu violet gold, the wobble is similar.
My Akko purple jelly with those dustproof stem is significantly less wobble.

I was deciding of switching out the Akko purple jelly due to the push feel is slightly light, was thinking of changing all to the MMDs.

Did you have any tactiles swtiches in mind to replace your MMDs?

i have completed the latest soldered build, with jwick black v2 + tx 67g cherry spring.

my preferred build option is always soldered. it's the only choice that can give a solid structural support to a board. i believe those who have tuned enough key switches realized that contact leaves of key switches might be loosed at times, regardless of brands. with soldering of switch pins onto pcb, we can make sure these contact leaves are secured properly. additionally, top plates are used to help stabilize key switches also. the plates allow key switches to be secured and fixed at their respective positions.

for hotswap boards, structurally they are relatively 'fragile', compared to soldered builds. it's a sacrifice we have to make in exchange of convenience. switch sockets are used to make contacts with switch pins, so that they can operate normally. hence, structural support wise, the top plate is the key part in stabilizing key switches. additionally, 5-pin key switches help by providing 2 additional plastic side pins as structural enforcement, provided that the pcb supports 5-pin/pcb-mount key switches.

in real life, hotswap boards provide practical convenience for beginners to experience and learn stuff, and a lot are satisfied with what are offered by hotswap kits. it's fine to stick to hotswap tbh. there are good builders that can make hotswap boards to behave nicely.

however, if possible, choose kits that provide both hotswap and solderable pcbs imo. we know not all makers are enthusiasts. enthusiasts usually will make solderable pcbs and call it a day. but because hotswap pcbs are popular, it's better for them to offer both, to cater for more interested users.

Ya.. X and Y axis wobble.
i compared to Leobog greywood v3 (as this is another switches i got and truly installed)
for few sample switches (3~5 switch only), Leobog Crystal/Ice Soul.

MMD HP switch definitely much much wobble compare to both of these.

Later might be find Akko Red Wine, Gateron Red, Blue, Yellow to test.

Just FYI, feker panda do need to be lubed.
When I was reassembling the switches, they fit rather tight as well. Don’t think switch films are needed.

if your box marketing is labeled mkb, don't try to trick users by using something else instead shakehead.gif not sure how they thought the enthustiast especially the youtuber reviewers would not finding something suspect and tear it apart to find out what trickery they did doh.gif

topre is lovely, i tried it before nod.gif

people have also been mentioned Niz as they are far cheaper than Topre, so maybe those are worth checking out.

But this HP is awful and a scam puke.gif

I just got it from shopee.
I assume since it’s already a “fake”.
There won’t be a fake version of a fake.

I’ll still recommend for you to try out first though.

Their singapore retail store was closed since Feb till further notice. The YouTube channel also stopped uploading since a couple of months back.

They say it’s due to tenancy agreement.
But hmmm, it is sus enough for me to hold off any purchase from them.

sweet. right, it's an oem profile clone, but as long as you like it then it's good enough.

i think you should try out different key caps progressively, e.g., different profiles/materials, original or not, so that you can identify the differences, in terms of feel, sound, and qualities.

key caps play a big part on typing feel and sound. for certain builds, i choose thinner caps so that i can have the feels that i like. using thicker caps doesn't result in the same thing.

Hi Guys, sorry to kacau you a bit. Where do you source your keycaps from?
I check around some places are offering those expensive keycaps and some like in shopee don't provide clear information.
My budget max ~RM200

I'm trying to look for thick keycaps with cherry profile. It is just I cannot buy different types and try them out.

What I have used before:
1. Stock Akko ASA profile keycaps that come with the PC75B. Surface is too small.
2. Cheap OEM profile, those RM10 - RM20 type.
3. GMK Clone, market as cherry profile, but received as OEM profile. RM 80
4. Mickey XDA profile. RM170.

Thanks.

*not a pro

Since you already own Akko ASA. why not try survey their Akko cherry type keycap.
they make a lot decent keycap, some time same color scheme and design appear in both cherry and ASA too.

I never thought of them. In my mind I always equate Akko with ASA profile, my bad.
Thanks for the input
