MMD panda definitely cost effective. (time wise i dont know lolĀ

)
not really a complain, as MMD panda only cost like 60~80cents each(stock), cant be serious compare it to some RM1~3 switches.
TBH, my M1 graywoodv3 is lubed, probably firmed by my friend (he sell me Rm1 each). and compare it to oilking or stock graywoodv3.
stock oilking > 70% lubed graywoodv3 > 50% stock graywoodv3
lubed graywood can reach 60~70% of oil king feel, stock graywood maybe half of the oilking feel. (my2cents)
if not going for almost perfect swtich, budget switch definitely worth to own, especially the price from stock to fine lubed almost x2, if compare it to stock oilking, that will be x4 and yet mention pricing of fine lubed oilking.....
just now switched back the 75% number row to graywood stock ,see how the oil king+MMD panda vs oilking+graywood feel.
I agree with it. We go with items that fits with our budget. We can start small and get more feel and experience.
I take whatever time I can spare to do small small experiments and read stuff here and other places.
I have done a few more lubing + filming by doing 1pc and compare the "improvement" vs the stock

The upper row 2 switches from the left:
1. Azure Dragon - Slight factory lube.
After lubing, slight reduction in the pitch, and the clacky sound is significantly reduced. Definitely noticeable difference before vs after.
I would say this switch is the loudest on my board even after lube and filmed.
2. KTT Matcha - slight factory lube
No significant difference before vs after. They have a slight clack to it
The 2nd Row from the left
1. Akko CS Ocean blue
After lubing, almost eliminate the clacky sound. It is like having a tighter feel
2. MMD Green Apple
After lubing, almost eliminate the clacky sound. It is like having a tighter feel
3. MMD Holy Panda
both switches are already lube. no comparison. lol
4. Emogogo grey
single switch serves as comparison to what I like.
5. Oil Kings
both stock just for comparison as well. I also like this switch
6. Tecsee Sapphire
After lubing, almost eliminate the clacky sound. I like this switch as well after lubing it, but the tactile bump is less noticeable among the switches.
This is just something I'm playing with and I'm not sure how to describe the switches, just my noob comments.

this is nice. i'm glad that you have started to get your hands dirty, observed, and found out differences by first-hand experience. you should know by now, the meaning of 'you get what you pay for', but there is still a chance to get cheap ones as base, and turn them into relatively better ones.
these days, almost all brands have mainstream/budget series, and highend/custom series. it's better to try them out first, before shaping your own opinions on their qualities.
yes it takes time to do switch tuning. however the outcomes are satisfying, so it's worth the time and efforts imo. it's true that whether to tune a switch fully, partially, or not at all, is based on your own decisions entirely.
you might wanna adjust the switch tuning/lubing work flows accordingly, e.g., there is no need to do everything in one go. you can always do things by batch.
Previously I have gotten my hands dirty per se, by lubing all those outemu browns in my previously full keyboard. It was quite an experience and gotten the "flow" how to do it.
But I 100% agree that there is no replacement of just getting the switches and try it out and modify accordingly to see how to feels.
And lubing although is time consuming, it does make a noticeable difference to the typing feel and sound. That is why I lubed and film all those Akko Jelly purples on my current board. It is just preferable for me
My current preference is to use slightly more lube that normally is recommended from what I watch and read.
I always just do like 5 - 10 switches per batch.
In your previous comment about
"almost all brands have mainstream/budget series, and highend/custom series" could you give some direction on the some of brands and where to get current information about their series they are offering. I understand some are manufacturer like JWICK, Akko, KTT, Haimu, Gateron, Outemu, Cherry etc. And some are brands that gets those manufacturers to make it for them.
And for the highend/custom series, what are some of them? Is it something like the Gazzew U4T?
