I have been using the HMX Hyacinth V2 and moved to the HMX KD200 for the fuller while still loud and high pitch sound. HMX is just quite cheap and ready to use out of the box. The typing feel is just to my liking.
But reading about the Yogurt switch here, is should be even louder vs the KD200, very interested to try it coz I did not come across the Yogurt previously. I typically get those HMX swtiches from Desk Monxter and call it a day. But they do not carry the yogurt at the moment, maybe TB it is. For those lubes, I find that using the Krytox XHT-BDZ for the stabs are just simple. Thick enough and stick well to the wires. And pair it with the typeplus screw-in PCB stabs, it is just easy to get it right the 1st time. This makes working with solder PCB so much more easier without needing to worry about the stabs. |

QUOTE(horns @ Jul 16 2025, 07:02 PM) xht-bdz is considered by most users as a better replacement for permatex dielectric grease. well, i stopped using permatex dielectric grease a long time ago. i never use xht-bdz. Yeah. I did try to use 205g0 for the stabs and I just feel it is slightly too thin. It will be fine initially, but will start to tick after some use or frequent changing of keycaps.i prefer lightly lubed stabs, so since few years ago, i just use 205g0 for stabs mainly. (i also do not apply epsi/holee mods anymore) i either use tx stabs/stems or similar alternatives if i do builds with pcb-mount stabs. for plate-mount, fl.cmmk v3, and now stabs from designer studio, are good enough. i am also ok with mixed sets of stabs. (normally only spacebar makes ticking sound; it seldom happens to 2u keys) After changing to the thicker XHT-BDZ, it was a breeze. And I agree that the spacebar is the one that kacao the most, but I sometimes do have problems with the backspace using TX stabs. Now I just stick to typeplus and be done with it. smooth sailing. For plate mount FLcmmk it just easy as well, no issue with them. I think each will have own preference and stick to what works. Now I'm curious the HMX yogurt is louder or KD200 is louder. gonna order from Unikeys the yogurts. |

QUOTE(quarantined @ Jul 22 2025, 10:58 AM) If you already have KD200 I think can skip Yogurts are pretty similar. I will test it when it arrives.. Already purchase it.Also a lot of sussy "205g0" out there.. I suggest only use the real Krytox ones. Rocking my Typ60 plateless with Gaterons L'Orange nowdays.. pretty awesome experience. I just like HMX switches as the typing feel agrees with me. |

Somehow I think the previous post was not posted. Strange. Just to update that I have tested the HMX yogurt and it is slightly higher pitch and louder vs the HMX KD200. The sound is quite "full" compared to the HMX Hyacinth V2. Overall I'm really liking this yogurt switch. horns liked this post
