Had to google what that meant. C3 stabs come with normal pan head screws and some non-conductive washers of unknown material.
*
pan-washer head is like this, https://my.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/221000547292/

stock screws are fine by the way. i use pan-washer head because i thought it has more surface area to secure stabilizer housings better; good for situations like non-full screw holes.

All done! So nice to have a (mostly) matching set. Just wish that the NUM had per key LED for a complete match.

Personally I like countersunk screws with an aluminium washer. That way you can add some flair with different colours of anodized aluminium. I used blue in my boards above.

ok haha

on the side note, basically for most generic tray-mount cases, i just stick to m2 x5 hex screws, because i use 1mm rubber rings between pcb and standoffs, when i want to.

i never tighten screws. i stop turning once resistance is felt. for maintenance, it's better to coat a layer of oil for the screws, to minimize rusting.

so far all screws on my board are not showing or underneath the keeb.

which brings me to the next pet peeve in this hobby, paying exorbitantly high prices for a fancy bottom case, guess I'm not that deeply in the rabbit hole..............

yet?

haha this hobby is mainly driven by hype. it's just one of the typical consumer behaviors.
one of the possible causes based on the symptom is like having bad diodes. if that's the case, replacement of the bad diode will resolve the problem.

however, there are also other causes. it needs physical inspections with tools like multimeter.

if the board still have warranty, make use of it.

Thanks... Warranty over for quite some time d
My knowledge is until how to change the switch only...

ok. if this is the case, you can either pay someone who is experienced to help you out, or you can learn how to trace and fix it by yourself.

It is actually a mixed of switches that i have extra lying around ...
bottom is using feker panda (nylon)
top is feker green emerald (PE) (PC)
stem is akko red (POM)
spring i used back the akko spring (53g i think)

more or less it is a linear switch with not much of tock sweat.gif
whistling.gif

also i managed to whip up the alphabets only since it is enough for that portion only

currently there is a limited run of star75 at taobao, with different colors, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=656392112467

if you're into gasket-mount 75%, this is a good deal imo.

it's around 920myr, excluding shipping. i just ordered another one for collection hehe

edit: tbh, with the current trend of packaging custom kits to include a hotswap pcb and a base option that has almost everything, and then you can still have optional addons of fully compatible parts, beginners these days can just grab any of such kits, and start playing with different combinations progressively. in a way, it's really like getting multiple kits, at a much cheaper price.

form factors and layouts might be the main problems during kit selection. but then, it might also help a beginner to find out the actual form factors and layouts that are more suitable for them.

Would love to but can't fork out the usd750 right now.
They do plan for it to be a frequent in stock raffle.
So, not today but maybe someday.
