At least we're getting the 48mp HEIF photos. No need big RAWs for 48mp.

The spec sheet between display and back/front camera for 14 Pro and 15 Pro is like exactly the same. (Except the 15 Pro Max with Periscope)

The rest like better Portrait and Smart HDR5 is purely software that could be given to 14 Pro.

Hopefully with iOS17, 14 Pro will receive update to improve its camera too.

Edit: was thinking if the new chip could be the one giving these new software features but then the regular 15 with A16 is getting the better Portrait and smart HDR5

I think for older phones, OS updates are merely to improve security and fix bugs. I doubt they’ll add new features to it anymore.

I usually avoid second hand and just get new, after a horrible experience long long ago when purchasing a second hand 7 Plus only for it to break down months later because apparently the previous owner admitted to washing it daily due to OCD. Although no claims can be done so had to folk out money to buy a new phone.

Yeah, you have to give that to Apple though… they are really good with updates. My mum’s iPhone 6S is still receiving constant security updates.

hmmmm I see that a lot of people either ask about the battery or say that the battery longevity not that good for 14 series...

there might be some truth to this - my 13 Pro Max since launch is at 85% perfomance (and that's a two year old phone with optimised charging disabled)

Actually the battery health is also affected by your usage and charging patterns. The more frequent you charge it, then the faster it deteriorates. I would say anything between a 5% to 10% drop within a year should be considered pretty normal.

mine is 89% hopefully can stay around 80% before next year i change to the 16pro
