Recently a lot iphone 14 pro sales, was tempted and cave into it. Was initially waiting for the 15. Screw the iPhone 15 now haha

If you consider to stay at lightning port like me since all my devices are still lightning (eg AirPods Pro 2, tv remote, charger n whole list etc) and want a huge discount can consider this.

Since 15 pro likely will have price hike too in USD, rumoured about 100 usd increase?

Looks dodgy to be honest. Even the MagSafe battery pack was sold at RM160 looks dodgy with a small listing description saying brand : Niceman

What’s even weirder is the reviews, they are all posted either 1 day ago or 6 days ago with really dodgy review.

My prediction is when September come, the 14 Pro price wouldn’t probably drop as much as it is discounted right now because the retailers themselves are absorbing/discounting the phones themselves and not Apple.
This is also based on past releases, they will sell the remaining discounted Pro stock till no more, unlike the regular 14 which might get a 500-600 price cut from its RM4199 RRP back to its current discounted price at around 3.6k and continue to be sold.

So a few questions to ask yourself:

Will you be okay for price increase for 15 Pro? If yes by all means wait for the 15 Pro. Apple pricing vs conversion rate price changes are unpredictable. A 100 USD increase could mean anywhere between a 500-600 MYR increase or more.

Are you ok to be on lightning port? Hype for USB C is real because you can travel with ease with one cable, and it has a higher data transfer rate if you need to transfer stuff to your Mac. But if you use iCloud or wireless MagSafe charging then the port doesn’t matter to you. Or like me I have a lot devices at lightning including AirPods Pro 2, so I still need both cables anyway, even though some of my devices like my iPAd Pro already use USB C. And also there are a lot more types/confusing USB C cables out there compared to just a single MFI certified lightning port. I would also think lightning port on the phone is easier to clean compared to USB C with a hovering stick in the middle.

Are there still a lot of stock and availability for the specific colour you want? Seems like silver is a popular colour followed by space black.

iPhone 15 rumour so far:

Pros: newer A17 being more efficient, battery capacity may increase if it takes up the sim slot, curve screen, titanium sides

Some drawback on the 15 rumours: curve screen will make it harder to apply screen protector, titanium being more expensive but easier to scuff/scratch, and possibility to loss physical SIM card (the 14 already loss physical SIM in the US)

Anyway the decision is up to you so anything I say here may turn out to be true/untrue only till the next iPhone and pricing is unveiled.

Ya man I upgraded to 14 pro from a 11 pro, so it’s all good for at least many many years unless you are certain rich forumer here who upgrade every year

it is a bit different, it changes some of the interface, but not a must have feature, it will come to all iPhones eventually.

Good thing is you can multitask easily on any app to control your music/calls/timer all those through the island. Other than that normally I just ignore them like the previous notch, but tend to notice the island existence more than the notch..

My 11 pro max battery still outlast the 14 pro though, too bad I have let the 11 pro max go

The spec sheet between display and back/front camera for 14 Pro and 15 Pro is like exactly the same. (Except the 15 Pro Max with Periscope)

The rest like better Portrait and Smart HDR5 is purely software that could be given to 14 Pro.

Hopefully with iOS17, 14 Pro will receive update to improve its camera too.

Edit: was thinking if the new chip could be the one giving these new software features but then the regular 15 with A16 is getting the better Portrait and smart HDR5

I usually avoid second hand and just get new, after a horrible experience long long ago when purchasing a second hand 7 Plus only for it to break down months later because apparently the previous owner admitted to washing it daily due to OCD. Although no claims can be done so had to folk out money to buy a new phone.

IOS17 on the 14 Pro is great!
Although first day so the battery did tank abit while it’s doing some indexing

Updated. cause YouTubers are saying the camera is improved and less processing. Which makes sense for them to improve since this is same camera hardware as the normal 15 Pro.

They can’t improve much on hardware so they start restricting on software.

Iphone 13 users loss out on action camera mode which is purely software while the base 14 gets it even though it is same chip.
Now 14 users don’t get the new smart portrait etc which the 15 gets it.

They update their phone and watch every year but not their iPad and Mac line up.

Feel like is Apple new strategy to make people upgrade since less n less ppl upgrade

Think the normal pro hardly any stock especially the 128gb/256gb version. But pro max now still got stock

Seems like 14 Pro built like a tank even though heavier 19gram
