Guys and particularly those who had my same experience, this is for your information.

After a barrage of complaints from me, Maxis Recovery Team called me. They then arranged for me to go to their service centre and get the 14 Pro that I wanted without any conditions.

The centre with the stock was [at TTDI. I took the liberty to ask them whether it’s their requirement to have existing customers add on before being allowed to renew their contract to purchase an iPhone and I was given a definitive NO. Does that mean that much like their dealers, each centre is given a free hand to conduct their business the way they deem commercially viable? If that’s the case, then for such a conglomerate. It leaves much to be desired.

So, those who are still looking to get a unit, take note. However, with Maxis, you never know what can happen despite what they tell us.

What size and color?

I think Silver is hard to get, and also 512GB

ya can vouch silver is slightly difficult to get. When i pre-ordered from switch, the SA told me silver ip14pro/pro max are limited.

yeap, go to official walk in centres like KLCC/TTDI, they normally dont add on other requirements..

i went to the one in sunway pyramid. made me wonder, why would i wanna add another line

im surprised the one at pyramid has such requirement tbh...they are one of the big ones normally follow official maxis procedure without needed to add this and that....guess you got to try the one at klcc then..

If you're not tie up with any contract, u can use ur existing line for the phone... Noneed additional line...

What line or plan are you on currently ? I think minimum is Maxis 128 line for higher end iPhones. And if your current line is on contract (either standard or Zerolution), you definitely can’t get another iPhone under it and you need to get another primary or sub line for this purpose.

interesting. I thought black and purple will be harder to get since it is popular (imo).
though when I pre-order from switch online back then (3rd batch), I only can choose silver or gold colour since the other 2 colours are OOS.

Just walk-in Machine 1U, asking if they have ready stock for iphone 14 Pro Max, Deep Purple 128GB, turn out they do have, BUT u have to bundle up with their machine protection plan, ridiculous...

Any recommendation for charger?
I thought I no need to buy any charger as I have a Ugreen fast charger that's 3-4 yrs old but it is not able to charge the iphone either using ugreen cable or iphone original cable.

If you're paying cash and still need to bundle, then shame on the branch for doing that.

When i purchased mine at TMT, was told to fork out for their protection plan if want to pay instalment. I'd rather pay cash then do balance transfer. The stupid thing is, i still got that one year extended warranty, FOC.

Instead they only suggest me to add MPP into the installment, kinda meh...
ya i intend to go for installment, just wondering balance transfer got no interest fee at all? Never do that before.

BT depends on credit card issuers. Sometimes got promo so you get smaller/no fees. Also depends on duration. In my case, the once off upfront fee is lesser than paying for their protection plan.

That’s almost like ‘marking up’ the iPhone pricing by forcing you that way.
