QUOTE(Jenn77 @ Dec 29 2024, 07:54 PM) Desa Home is selling that size now for almost RM4K. I would just pay that RM200 if you want that model.QUOTE(Silfer @ Dec 30 2024, 10:28 AM) If you want OLED that fits your budget, then get OLED.Someone I know had a 65" TV. Midrange but "branded". About a year later, they replaced it with an OLED 55". With lights on as their way of watching TV in the living room, that OLED was just wasted. They didn't even disabled motion interpolation! It comes down to your budget and your space limitation, firstly. If OLED fits, then get OLED. Otherwise, look at the mini-LED or FALD stuff again with those two criteria. Silfer liked this post

Any Q6N user, hows the tv performance so far? I will use it for casual gaming, netflix, YT in a room with sufficient daylight but dim light at night.

QUOTE(MGTheChosen @ Jan 13 2025, 10:23 AM) LCD and OLED panels are made by a handful of manufacturers. TV manufacturers order from them with features for high-, mid- and low-end TVs. QUOTE In 2022, 76% of the LCD TV panels that TCL and Hisense purchased came from Chinese panel makers that include BOE, ChinaStar, HKC Display, CSOT, and CEC-Panda, an increase from a 73% share a year ago or 58% share in 2019. The retreat of Samsung Display and LG Display from the LCD TV panel business in 2023 is causing difficulties for South Korean TV makers, typically the most powerful panel purchasers in the market, when negotiating with external panel suppliers. DisplaySpecifications.com quoting an Omdia report. So if you're worried about panel failure, buying a different brand is not going to matter. The LCD panel manufacturers are only a handful. I used quite a few times in Airbnbs in different staysso far their os seems fine, maybe i did not try to do much with it but i am more concerned about the panels and hardware, mostly hopefully hisense will increase support for their softwares |

Minor update. And this thread should have been closed last year because it's outdated...
But VIDAA has added Max and Unifi TV on the homescreen. Hopefully Max gets full support like Netflix and Apple TV+, and not like Disney+ Hotstar. |
